A father
Steve thought he's seen everything in his long life. But he was so wrong.
He's never seen Tony Stark so broken, so destroyed. It was as if he's been broken in a million little pieces.
The alien woman… Nebula told them Tony could not speak for hours after Thanos commited his genicide. She told them Tony stayed in the ground looking at the ashes on his hands for hours and he looked as if he had died with the boy.
He saw Pepper hugging Tony as he kept whispering and holding the mask of Spiderman.
"I thought he'd be invincible with this suit… That's why I made it so he'd be safe….", whispered Tony.
He was a father to Peter.
He's seen it since the moment Tony presented the boy a few years ago. And he remembered what Vision said that day.
"He's not invincible anymore, he is weak now. He will die the day the boy dies…. maybe not his body… but his heart will die with the boy"
And hell, he was right.
Someone said something about all loses are the same, no one is irreplaceable.
And he heard what happened after that.
Tony's thrown a chair at him.
" You don't have a child, do you?", growled Tony.
No one dared to speak after that.
