"On movie night, Chris and Beth share a life-changing kiss"
I sat down on the couch next to Beth with a huge bowl of popcorn. It was movie night, which had been our thing for years now. "So, what are we watching?" I ask, tossing a handful of popcorn in my mouth.
"It's the new Pony Lords movie!" Beth replied excitedly and hit play.
Beth curled up with her head on my shoulder. My heart skipped a beat as I looked down at her. She looked beautiful as ever, even in her pajamas with her hair tied back in a messy ponytail. These little things that she did drove me crazy. I wish she knew how I felt about her, but I knew she only loved me as her best friend.
"Beth" I muttered, hoping she didn't hear me.
"Yeah, Chris?" She looked up at me with those big eyes of hers.
"Beth, I need to tell you something." I took a deep breath, there was no turning back now. "I love you, Beth."
She lifted her head off of my shoulder and leaned in close. "Really?"
"Yeah" I whispered leaning in and kissing her gently on the lips.
I tried to pull away but instead she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me closer. Her lips were soft against mine, and I closed my eyes trying to savor the moment. She parted her lips from mine, but still held me close. "I love you too Chris."
