A/N: OMG! Crack-pairing! Jinno x OC!! And no, I'm not a fan -.- I just thought it would be amusing to write XD Narumi-sensei is too feminine and Noda-chi is always gone so… XD Hopefully it's not too OOC tho. He's a lot younger in this one too, so it's not TOO weird haha

Pronunciation of Xy Aitexu: Zy I-tex-oo (everyone always complains about that XD)

No one ever invited him to the Last Dance.

Xy popped her bubblegum loudly in the silent class, smirking.

The teacher writing never-ending arithmetic on the chalkboard swiveled around quickly in an attempt to identify the culprit, "Who is responsible for that noise?!"

Xy played innocent. If Jinno-sensei discovered she was the one popping the bubblegum for the past twenty minutes, she'd be dead.

But he seemed so lonely.

After finding nothing suspicious of his high school students, Jinno-sensei returned to his details on the chalkboard. Chuckles scratched the surface of the silence, and the boy sitting beside Xy gave her a silent high-five.

Jinno-sensei was not oblivious, "It does not matter if you are the culprit or not, I am prone to handing out detentions to anyone disrupting this lesson."

All the students glanced at each other, then shut their mouths.

Xy was different though, blowing into the pink gum for a second time. Unfortunately, Jinno-sensei heard the sound of the gum expanding, and turned before Xy could pop it.

Infuriation obvious in Jinno's reddening face, there were a few stifled laughs from the other students, "AITEXU!! In my office after class!!"

The majority of them were more impressed with Xy's farce than the color of Jinno-sensei's face, "I apologize, Jinno, but I have very important matters to attend to in the dormitory once the bell rings," Xy 'helplessly' lifted her hands into the air.

The class seemed to flinch as one being when Jinno-sensei slammed the textbook onto the desk. His fingertips sizzled with his Alice, "Disobedience can drastically change my mood, Aitexu! Don't you dare test me today!"

Relaxed, Xy leaned back in her chair and blew another bubble, flipping back her ebony locks.

Jinno raised his hand into the air, prepared to strike her with his Alice, "AITEXU-!!"

Everything stopped when the bell rang. Faster than Jinno's lightning, the rest of the teenagers dashed from the classroom. During the commotion, Jinno never looked away from Xy, tapping a ruler in the palm of his hand and glaring. Xy continued to smile at him, chewing her gum and blowing yet another bubble.

When the room was empty, and students could be seen returning to the dormitory from the window, there was silence. The only things between Jinno and Xy were four rows of desks…

'-and clothes,' Xy added, but she dismissed that as irrelevant.

Still frustrated, Jinno slowly closed the distance between them, "Since you have become a senior at Alice Academy, all you have been doing is causing trouble," as if he was allowed to, he tapped her on the head with the ruler (quite roughly, actually), "I do not like it. Change your attitude before you're not allowed to graduate."

Pulling away from his touch, Xy held her head high, "You can't do that!"

Jinno leaned even closer in response, narrowed eyes the only thing in Xy's vision. She could have sworn he was either going to kiss her, or spit in her face. Thankfully, it was neither. Instead, he said, "Try me."

Xy leaned even closer and mocked him, "No thank you."

Was it perverse that Xy found this situation deafeningly amusing?

She crossed her arms and continued talking before she distracted herself with 'those kinds' of thoughts, "Besides, if I can't graduate, you'd have to put up with me for another year," she laughed, "I really don't think you want that…do you?" there was a glint of mischief in her eyes.

As suspected, Jinno wasn't the slightest bit intimidated, "Don't be ridiculous," he stood up straight, and took on a completely different tone, "I'd certainly have you lined up by then."

Finding that a challenge, Xy retorted, "Is that a threat?"

Jinno grit his teeth and turned to her again. He had had enough. He clicked his finger and released his Alice, the spark of lightning dashing jaggedly towards Xy. But without effort, the

girl lifted her hand past her face, droplets and medium-sized orbs of water appearing in the air. When the lightning clashed with them, they made tiny explosions in the air. The lightning was gone.

"Tch," Jinno lowered his hand, too exasperated to actually go through a full-fledged Alice battle. So instead, he sauntered to his desk and pulled out detention forms, "Starting tonight, you will serve three days worth of detention for your disruption and disrespect in my-"

"PANTS!!" Xy groaned loudly just to annoy him further, throwing her head back, "Geez! Why today?! It's the Festival dance party!"

"I beg your pardon!" this was truly bothering Jinno, "Frivolous students such as yourself shouldn't be privileged to attend such events!"

Xy stood up, "But I was going to invite you to the Last Dance!" she crossed her arms and held her nose in the air, "Hmph!"

The silence between them was almost more painful than his Alice. Jinno's eyes were wide with surprise, "…What?"

"It's common that students ask teachers, neh?" Xy laughed, "All those girls after Narumi-sensei and Misaki-sensei, yet none for you."

"I don't need your pity, Aitexu," Jinno spat, "You should know your place."

Xy practically skipped towards the door, speaking nonchalantly, "It's not pity! I was seriously asking!"

Reaching the door, she turned back and looked at him, "Fine. You know I'm not coming to that detention," she was about to leave, but turned back for a second thought, "And, ah…I'm not going to ask anything else." And the willowy high school girl was gone.

that evening

"Me and my big mouth," Xy inhaled deeply, slumping in her chair. Her beautiful silk gown wrinkled against the back of the chair.

Her friend Rywmah was sitting across from her, "What happened now? You still didn't tell me what happened earlier with Jinno-sensei!" she took a sip of her tea, "All I know is that you evaded his punishment or something."

Xy wasn't paying attention. She stared blankly at her own cup, twirling the heart-shaped straw around and around and around. She didn't even budge when Rywmah poked her forehead, "Helloooo? Anyone in there?!"

But all Xy heard were her own thoughts, 'there's no way he'd accept. I've had him for a teacher for five years…ever since he first started…'

It was her second year in middle school when Jinno first started as a young substitute. She never actually had him in any of her classes much that year. But even then, she knew that he was much different than he was today.

Xy was always a troublemaker. Not inside the school, but outside. It was only now that she started disruptions inside the classroom.

She used to go out to town at night. Xy was tired of the fact that students couldn't leave campus, which was why she snuck out of the dormitories often to…well, break rules.

"Don't you ever touch me again!" Xy cried as she jumped into the air. Raising her leg high, she glared down at the man as her foot slammed into his face.

Unconscious, the man fell onto the table and it collapsed underneath his weight. Too many people saw Xy's face. Cursing under her breath, she jumped off the ground and out a broken window. Raindrops fell hard on her head as she started running.

'Whoever knew this Central Town could get so crazy at this hour,' Xy thought as she ran down the alleyway.

Soaked, Xy fought away shivers and reached the main street. Barely any people roamed the muddy street at night- especially in that storm. Her head turning from side to side, she made sure no one was near-

"Shit!" she exclaimed when a man carrying an umbrella grabbed her wrist from behind.

The man's face still hidden, Xy noticed the suit and dress shoes. The voice was deep, "A student mustn't use such foul language…nor should they be here this late at night."

Xy glared at the stranger, "I'm not a student," the way she was dressed, she could have been mistaken for a tramp.

The man lowered his head to reveal his face; it was Jinno when he first started working, "Homeroom 2-A…am I right?"

Xy flinched. She needed to ditch the man- and fast. Digging her heel into the mud, she prepared herself to either run or kick dirt in his face. When she yanked her wrist from his grip,

he shouted as she turned to run. Before she could even come close to escaping, Jinno yanked her back by the arm. The girl wasn't strong enough to pull away, so she exaggerated her fall to the ground. He released her when she landed with a heavy thump, black hair concealing her expression. Motionless, Xy played injured.

The young Jinno stared down at her for a second. She still did not move. She lay there in the puddles as he kneeled down by her bruised shin, reaching out to touch her, "Are you all right?"

That was really the only time he ever asked her such a thing…yet she threw it back in his face. Xy growled under her breath and aimed her foot for his head. But with amazingly fast reactions and the same hand that reached out to her snatched her foot and twisted it into the ground. The roughness made Xy flinch.

"Are you all right?" he repeated with a dangerous tone.

After a long moment, Xy submitted to him, "…yes."

"Then here," Jinno stood up, holding a hand out to her.

Xy looked up at him with wide eyes as if he was offering her somebody's head, 'what is this idiot doing? I just tried to kick him and he's still not enforcing discipline? Well…this certainly is a first.'

Tentatively, Xy reached forward and took his hand.

After a year or so, he became the Head of the Department of Mathematics. He taught pretty much every grade, including Xy's…for the next four years. It usually wasn't probable that a student would get the same teacher for a subject each year (there were plenty of teachers in each department), but that wasn't the case for Xy. Every year, she'd be in Jinno's class again, sitting in the same exact seat.

She didn't mind since he was a good teacher, but her eventual infatuation led her to believe it was fate.

He changed over the next few years. Jinno because fierce and strict, and did not show remorse when using his Alice on a student. Even through all of that, Xy could see him outstretching his arm to her…because after that night…he persuaded her not to head out to the city anymore (in exchange for no punishment)…but that saved her more than he could ever know…

That's why she fell in love with her professor.

Rywmah pushed Xy so far back that her chair nearly fell over, "Wake up, you dunce! The Last Dance is about to start!"

Xy snapped out of it, "Really?!" but then she sighed, "Not like it matters…"

Rywmah smacked a hand over he own forehead, "What's with you? You're so depressed tonight! I thought you said you asked somebody!" she set her hands on her hips, "I don't want to leave you here alone; remember, Erutma and I are dancing."

Resting her head on her hand which was propped up by her elbow, Xy muttered nonchalantly, "Don't worry about it. Go ahead-"

"So it seems you kept your word."

Gaping so quickly, Xy started coughing, "N- no way!"

Standing behind her was Jinno-sensei himself, wearing one of those formal tuxedoes.

Rywmah was gaping, whispering shakily in Xy's ear, "W-what is J-Jinno-sensei doing here?!"

"He's the one I asked…" Xy muttered absentmindedly as Jinno led her to the dance floor.

The music started.

Warm hands…blue-grey eyes…his cologne…and a very real presence against Xy's body…

"Did you really believe I was so rude as to deny a young woman's invitations?" the same chastising tone as always, "…even one from a woman as outlandish as you."

Xy's eyes glittered in the firelight, "I take that as an insult, Jinno-sensei."

"It was intended as such."

Xy laughed quietly under her breath. She noticed that she was already receiving enough attention since she was dancing with none other than the violent math teacher Jinno. Tilting her head, Xy said, "Why don't you joke with such familiarity with other students?"

"Because I haven't had any other students for all the five years of my career."

And actually holding up a conversation with him!!

Xy gazed deep into his eyes. She was disappointed when she didn't find anything even mildly romantic. Well, what else could she expect? He was at least ten years older than her…right?

Xy covered her search up with her usual, almost tomboyish grin, "Those students who fear you will think you've gone soft since you know how to dance."

"Is dancing not masculine?"

"What? You call your anger management issues 'masculine?'"

He didn't even get the slightest bit irritated at that comment, "Yes, in fact I do."

Their slow dance continued in comfortable silence. While the other couples came closer in each other's arms, Jinno and Xy remained at their safe distance. Xy looked to the side, not knowing what to do or say. He wasn't showing her what she wanted. He wasn't doing what she wanted. She stared wistfully at the couples clinging to each other for dear life. Couldn't she just get a little closer to-

"How long are you going to hide it?"

Xy flinched and looked up at Jinno. She could see that same Jinno-sensei a few years back, sheltering her from the rain

…the rain…in her heart…

Xy forced a smile, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Ah," Jinno looked to her shoulder and flicked something off her sleeve. An excruciating pause made Xy squirm as his eyes met hers. He was going to say something…he was going to-

"You still have three detentions."

"…w-WHAT?!" Xy exclaimed, bewildered. But for some reason, the expression on his face made her laugh.

And…if only for the briefest of moments…Xy could see him smiling like he did in her dreams.

A/N: well that wasn't that…great, when it comes to writing skill. I've done better XD But hopefully you enjoyed! Pwease review!! Next chapters up soon!
