CRUEL ANGEL
1 As I lie here on
My pillows of feather and silk,
Tears of hate bleed from
My cold, dark eyes as I
Think about the time
You kissed my pale, marred flesh
And then left me
Like a dying beast of burden
Who'd lost his use.
A cruel angel you were,
Sent by and equally cruel God
To torment me for my sins,
To offer me salvation
And tear it away from me just as I had
Found my reason for being.
Oh a cruel God indeed to
Have sent such loveliness and perfection,
Knowing I would love her,
Only to talk her from me!
Of all the Hells you
Could have condemned me to,
You sent me to one from which
There is no escape.
No escapeā¦
My own personal Hell
Where no light may enter without
Turning to complete and utter
DARKNESSā¦
