"What did you do?" Giles asked with a heavy sigh.
"We, uh..." Xander looked guilty as he shuffled from foot to foot, not wanting to admit anything even as the evidence was all around them.
"We pulled these out from this hat!" Anya cheerily supplied, looking around the Magic Box and then gesturing to the ratty looking tophat on the table.
"Y'see, we found it in a box in the storage room and it was a really cool hat, so I just thought I'd try to pull something out of it. As a joke, y'know?" Xander awkwardly explained.
"But not bunnies! We weren't trying to conjure bunnies," Anya was quick to add with a shutter. Never those vermin.
"So you went snooping in the storage room and decided to play magician-"
"Like David Copperfield," Xander interrupted.
"David Copperfield? He doesn't even use a bloody-" Giles gave up mid-sentence, knowing it wasn't worth the arguement. He shook his head and took in a deep breath, looking around the room. "What am I supposed to do with thirty... seven penguins?"
"I'd say put on a tux and lead them around?" Xander suggested cheekily. Giles gave the pair a withering look. It was going to be a long day.
