My first poem on Vision of Escaflowne. I'm just starting to build up my obsession on this Japanese masterpiece so, understandably, I only have one poem.
I sort of felt for Hitomi and Van when their time of parting is on play. I couldn't accept that a couple as good as that wouldn't end up together. I imagined what it must feel like letting go and how much you'd give for THE one. This composition is what, for me, Van and Hitomi are feeling for each other, so there's no particular person speaking.

At last I was granted, the only wish I made sincere
Pulsations and hard throbbing fell at ease with mere…
… you… and only you…
Leave it be though I cannot, all this time I wanted to…
I can't seem to go straight, nor go on without you.
Worlds apart, people's noise hammer in my ear,
Laughter, silence, music ringing, but I hear…
… you… and only you…
Solitude isn't anymore the matter, now that you've walked with me in my garden
Twist my destiny, do everything as you wish, but I would never let you go again.
I'd be drowsy, I'll be lousy, make me miserable, I won't choose.
Take me down, I wouldn't care, as long as I won't lose…
… you… and only you…
Stay with me forever. Leave the two worlds and let's make our own.
No where else, nothing else, no one else… you are my home.
They say an oath said once is nothing but a statement.
Twice, then you meant what you said.
Now, I swear to you, you're everything, my angel
Ignore… then I'd be better of dead.
But there's one thing in their minds that I totally disagree,
It's that special things in life are very rare,
'cause you're the most precious thing to me
but you're the ONLY one I will love, forever, "I swear".
