Starman waiting in the sky, he'd like to come and met us but he think he'd blow our minds
Boy meets space/time travellers, travels the universe with them saving from innumerable threats from cyborg Daleks to time-travelling Monks to the beauteous Drahvins. Boy basically 'falls' for girl, girl leaves, boy has argument with time-traveller, leaves too, boy returns, followed by second girl. Travellers arrive in the far-future, far past boy's time, an age of peace and prosperity. A man needed to stay, to mediate the two warring sides, boy forced to stay by the time traveller, in his place.
Steven and The Doctor had been through a lot in their few, brief, months together. It had started out as a journey and, well, kind of became this whole different quest. On the outside he presented a strong, almost action hero-esque air to himself but, deep down, Steven felt nothing more than a small child trapped in a strange, unknown, place without a friendly face to guide him through the task set ahead for him. Did The Doctor trust him so much that he would be 'perfect' for being the intermediary the people so dearly needed? & Vicki, oh dear sweet, marvellous, Vicki, who was like the 'kid' sister he'd never had, who he loved more than he knew…
He smiled as he watched the TARDIS dematerialise, wheezing and groaning its way out of existence once more, taking The Doctor and Dodo with it. Yes it would be difficult, but what's life without challenge?
"Come Steven" he heard Jano call out for him, "we're ready for you…"
Come on Hi-Fi, we've got work to do. "Oh Doctor", he hoped", slowly walking towards the Conference Chamber, "I just hope your trust and faith in me was justified…"
There's a starman waiting in the sky, he's told us not to blow it cause he knows it's all worthwhile…
