That's all I've ever been…
That look is all I see.
Every day, with a little exasperation thrown in,
A look of anger mixed with pity.
Their eyes only see my mistakes;
Though they say they love me
And want what is best,
Every night I end up crying.
My friends try to help,
Solace and friendship, they're giving
But it fails to cheer
Because I think I'm undeserving.
I'll never give up, though,
Because that's my creed,
And the one who taught this
Waits to walk with me.
