In a dark cave sealed by a demon, a young boy of 11 summers is chained to the wall. The boy is tall for his age with shining silver hair, chocolate brown eyes, and a proud, defiant look gleaming in his eyes.
Opposite the boys stands a band of demons. Several of them shuffle back and forth, all but one. The leader steps to the front and glares at the boy.
"Name him, wretch!" he screams at the boy.
The boy replies with a bored stare.
"Boy, you try my patience. Who. Is. Your. Father?" The leader takes a step closer in his impatience.
"No one you would want to know, I assure you," The boy replies nonchalantly.
"I'll have his name, boy! GIVE IT TO ME!"
"I can't tell you. He'll know."
"I'm tired of your lies!" The leader steps closer.
Just a little closer…
A second more passes in silence before the leader, enraged, pounces on the boy, hands around his neck.
"Sess-" The boy manages to choke out.
The leader releases his hold slightly.
"Yes?" The leader coaxes.
"Sessho…" The boy pauses with his face downturned and away.
"Sessho's not a name, boy. Give me his REAL name!!!" yells the leader once again enraged.
The boy sighs.
"Sesshomaru, Lord of the Western Lands, is my father." The boy blushes lightly with embarrassment. Damn. I was hoping to take care of this myself…
"Sesshomaru?!"
"Lord Sesshomaru?!"
"The Lord of the Western Lands?!"
"I didn't know he had a son!"
The demons fidget in fear of the very name of the boy's father.
The leader is not fooled however.
"Lord Sesshomaru? I had heard that he had taken a mate. But I have heard there is unrest in their mating. She was taken against her will. There's no way a brat could result from such a mating…"
"Then, you surely know nothing of my family."
"By all means, boy, enlighten us."
"I am Rei the first child born of Sesshomaru, Lord of the Western Lands, and Kagome, the Shikon Miko. My mother is the strongest miko in all the four lands. She is the destroyer of the dark hanyou, Naraku, mother of my two sisters, and lover of my father."
The demons all stare in shock.
"You have chosen the wrong family to mess with… And the wrong child as well. I am the first born Houshi Youkai, born of both miko and youkai powers. I am the strongest being to ever have walked these lands."
"You would do well to remember your place, pup. You have yet to defeat me."
All eyes turn to the intruders at the entrance to the cavern. There stands the Lord and Lady of the Western Lands.
"Jeez, now I know that he got your 'high-and-mighty' attitude." Lady Kagome mumbles.
"Silence, woman. Now is not the time. I must retrieve our son."
"Humph. Fine. I'll be outside, then." And with that Lady Kagome stomps out of the cave.
"Father, I was doing fine on my own. I could have taken care of this myself. There are only…1…2-3-4…5-6-7-8. There are only 8 of them."
"Quiet, pup. I'll deal with you later." And with that, Lord Sesshomaru turns his attention to his son's captors and his hand glows green.
The demons, knowing what is coming, flee in every direction. Sesshomaru disappears only to reappear in front of the leader. The leader freezes in shock, and Sesshomaru drives his claws through his stomach. Extracting his hand, the leader falls to the ground and Sesshomaru lays waste to the rest of the demons. Finished with them, Sesshomaru turns back to his son.
With two more swipes of his claws, Rei's shackles are removed.
"Follow me, Rei. Your mother will be very upset…"
"Thank you, Father. I will not run away again…"
