Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me of course. *tear*

A.N.: Okay, now I KNOW I haven't written anything for months. But - well, here's a little something! It's kind of weird, and maybe you won't understand it... but I don't care!!! By the way, I'm going to revise a few parts of Every Creature Dies Alone and True Friends so it has all new canon stuff from OotP in it! Maybe I'll even revise Terms of Pregnancy. but then again I am really lazy. Oh, and if none of the HTML things come up don't blame me! Blame Microsoft Word!!!

To The Veil

Ginny had unconsciously grabbed Neville's hand as they walked into the Death Chamber behind everyone else.

Now, as everyone traveled down below for a closer look, they remained at the top.

"Do you hear it, Ginny?" Neville asked breathlessly, not taking his eyes off the veil. She nodded, without realizing Neville wasn't looking at her. They both stared for all they were worth at the tattered black veil.

"It's calling to us."

Before they knew it their feet had carried them down to last bench. Their hands still holding on to each other.

"It's... beautiful," said Ginny, wishing she would think of a better word.

"Yeah, but don't you hear the voices?"

"They're getting louder."

"They want us there."

"I want to go."

Hermione seemed to worried about something, seeing as she kept yelling at someone. Neither of them cared the least bit what it was or whom she was angry with. All they wanted was the veil.

The voices grew even louder as they reached the bottom of the dais. Neither seemed to realize that they walked in sync to it, with identical looks on their faces. They tightened their handhold with every step.

When they reached the bottom of the dais, they strained their ears for the voices to become clearer. It was still muffled but some still stood out.

"...come to us..."

"Just push it aside."

"Only for a second..."

"...join us."

"Come with me, Neville," Ginny whispered. "I want to go behind it. Please Neville, come with me."

"Anything for you, Ginny," Neville said back.

As the two were about to walk forward a voice - a real voice - made them stop and Ginny immediately pulled her hand away from Neville's. They still stared entranced at the veil.

"That's what I've been trying to - well, come on then!" Hermione's voice rang out.

The other four came around the side of the dais and without a word to them Hermione grabbed Ginny's arm and Ron Neville's as they pulled the two out of the room. It wasn't until they were in the circular room again that they fully recovered.

As the wall began to spin around again Ginny made her way over to Neville. She went on her toes and whispered in his ear, "Thank you, Neville. Thank you for wanting to come with me."
