"Do you think they're up yet?" Melinda said. You could hear the excitement and anxiousness in her voice.

"Melinda!" Fin laughed

"They'll be up when they decide to get up. I mean how long could they possibly sleep on Christmas morning?" Fin said rubbing her thigh.

The two had been sitting on the couch for half an hour. The Christmas lights glistened on the foil wrapping, the living room looked like a disco. It was 5:00 am and there hadn't been any kind of movement upstairs. Melinda just wanted to go upstairs and wake up the girls but Fin wasn't going to let her. He loved to see their eyes light up as they thumped down the stairs in their matching pink footsie pajamas. It wouldn't feel the same if they were woken up.

"They have five more minutes and then…"

"Do you hear that?" Fin said cutting her off

There was one thump and then sound of running feet. You could hear the banging on the doors and Daniella screaming "Wake up it's Christmas!" You could hear the two other girls hop out of bed and run across the floor. There was a quick pause and then the three of them came thumping down the stairs, nearly falling over themselves in pure excitement.

"Daddy! Mommy! Look at all of the presents! Miranda exclaimed as soon as she say all of the presents.

The three of them stood right in front of the presents and tree. They just gazed at the presents and the lights. Fin saw the twinkle in their eyes, the twinkle he waited for the entire year.

"Well are you three just going to stand there or are you going to open them!" Melinda asked impatiently

They looked over to their parents and smiled before attacking the gifts. Each one of the girls was so unique from the other, even when it came to opening gifts.

Daniella being the oldest and the biggest was quite relentless when it came to opening gifts; she left each piece of wrapping paper torn and crumpled and every box ripped. Her plan of action was to open each one, and then look to see what she got after.

Miranda was always the brains in every situation. Sometimes people think the middle kid is forgotten, but Miranda made sure she put her two cents in every matter that she could be in. She opened each gift carefully, studying how it was wrapped, almost as if she wanted to know how to wrap all over again if necessary. After opening one she would announce each gift and neatly put it next to her.

Then there was little Jade. She was delicate in every way. With her tiny hands she tore off small pieces. Daniella and Miranda had opened three presents while Jade was still working on her first. Melinda nudged Fin and gave him the "well help her" look.

"Jade, let daddy help you." Fin said

"Come here with your gift."

When Jade tried to get up she tripped on her pajamas and fell face first onto the carpet. The scream that came from her was like nothing anyone had ever heard. Fin shot out of his seat and picked her up and snuggled her.

"There's no crying on Christmas." Fin said trying to make Jade laugh

Jade wiped her face and laughed. Fin carried her over to the couch and helped her open the box. The pink and purple hat inside fit her perfectly and she loved it.

"Go get another gift." Fin smiled

Fin put Jade down and she carefully walked over to the tree, making sure she didn't trip again. While Jade was grabbing another present, Fin pulled out his gift for Melinda. Inside of a tiny green box was a bigger and better wedding ring. Melinda gasped and cried a little before Fin put it on her finger.

"Fin, I hate to tell you but I can't give you your gift right now." Melinda said slightly distraught

"That's okay I couldn't possibly think of anything to ask for." Fin said before kissing her

"I think there's one thing I can give you that I know you've secretly wanted for a while." Melinda said

"What?" Fin said confused

"A baby boy." Melinda smiled as she touched her stomach.
