Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Keepers. Nor do I own the idea of Epcot or anything else in this that is owned by somebody already. Evn if it isn't, I don't own anything except the idea of this story I suppose, but I guess Ridley Pearson might introduce that in later books? Probably not, though, because it's all Willa/Philby :(
So this is another ship I drew, but I like this ship. So yeah.
Epcot was very dark at nighttime. Willa thought this every time she saw it, even though that was so many times.
"Willa!" Maybeck called, waving his arms. Willa sprinted to him.
"I'm here," she said breathlessly. "Mom would almost not leave my bedroom." She glanced down at her pajama pants and tank top. "She only did just a few minutes ago."
Maybeck, who was comfortably wearing jeans and a jersey, easily laughed at her, though Willa didn't mind. Maybeck was so fun to be around. He was the comic relief in times of trouble. But now, she didn't need a comic relief. Everything was okay.
"How did you get Philby to let us cross over and nobody else?" Willa asked, setting off down Main Street with Maybeck.
"Well, let's just say his computer disappeared mysteriously," Maybeck said. "And mysteriously, nobody but us crossed over."
Willa giggled. "You stole Philby's computer? He's gonna be so mad."
"Eh," Maybeck said, shrugging. "I'm so cool I don't care."
Willa rolled her eyes. Maybeck was always going on about how cool he was. Sure, he was famous, but she was too. All the DHIs were.
"Do you not believe me?" Maybeck asked in a fake mad tone, swinging his arm around her.
"Oh, no," Willa said, leaning into him. "I'm sure you're super popular. I heard Madonna wants your autograph."
"Oh? Where did you hear that?"
Willa laughed. "From ," she invented. "Very accurate site."
"I'm sure," Maybeck said defensively, puffing out his chest. "I'm sure everybody wants my autograph."
Willa rolled her eyes again. "Let's go to France," she suggested, changing the subject.
"Sure," Maybeck said easily. "Come on."
France was also very dark. Willa and Maybeck slid into a bench, looking out over the water. "We haven't done this in a while," Maybeck said, sliding his arm around Willa again.
She smiled to herself. "No, I guess not," she said. "Not since Jez was in Animal Kingdom. I remember that."
Maybeck nodded. "We have been here though. I guess we're just too busy saving the world to really have time for this."
Willa nodded. She felt that way too. It was great to save the world, to be famous like that, but she wished she could have more of a normal life. At least she wished Maybeck could go to her school and she could date him someplace except at midnight in the Disney Parks as a hologram. That wasn't normal. It wouldn't even make sense to anybody except a Kingdom Keeper.
"Yeah, I know," she finally said. "At least the Overtakers aren't out of Disney. That's good."
"Completely," Maybeck agreed. "But I think about that all the time. Let's think about something else."
Willa felt relieved. They weren't going to focus only on that subject. It was great that they saved the world, but that was all they ever talked about. Now that the world was saved, at least for a while, she had always wished they could discuss something else. And they were going to.
"What do you want to think about?" Willa asked, putting her head on his shoulder. "I'm sick of discussing saving the world, too. That's all any of us ever talks about. Finn's like obsessed with it. I mean, we all are, but well…
"We want the world to be okay, you're right. But we should be able to be normal, too," Maybeck added. "Isn't that what you mean."
Willa nodded, relieved. "Exactly what I mean."
"Good," Maybeck said. "Then we can do this."
And he kissed her.
Sorry if it's kinda awkward, I think so too ;)
Please review if you can, it really makes me happy!
Linley :)
