"Whose blood-replenishing potion, do you think, was stuffed down your miserable throat as you lay on the ground dying, Potter?"

. & .

"I killed him."

"Yes, you killed him."

The sight of Ron, his best friend, not even getting a chance to yell or scream or move before a blinding green light hit him… Ron falling to ground – eyes wide open – the memory suddenly flashed into Harry's head.

His face paled, as if it was the first time he realized Ron was dead.

"I fucking killed him," Harry rasped, hands fisting in hospital bed sheets. He threw up.

"We have established that," said Snape evenly, making a vaguely disgusted face when vomit slid onto his own robes. He cast a quick cleaning spell (one on Harry too, as he had vomit dribbling down his chin) before resuming," Although the number of Weasleys was getting a bit too copious, I daresay –"

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Harry yelled, so loudly it was a wonder the window didn't shatter. He jerked his head towards Snape. " This is all your fault! Don't you fucking dare go around saying you're a fucking saint you two-faced– "

"I would hold my tongue if I were you, Mr. Potter," Snape said, voice rising. He looked at Harry with such an intense gaze; Harry would've looked away if it hadn't been for his pride. "I saved you, pathetic little boy, didn't I? Whose blood-replenishing potion, do you think, was stuffed down your miserable throat as you lay on the ground dying, Potter? And you still think you have the right to degrade me! Perhaps I should reconsider my allegiance…"

Harry gave a dry, humorless laugh. "Like you can! I killed him. I killed your Dark Lord!"

Snape appeared unfazed, "You did kill him. But the fact that you also killed your little friend in the process seems to conveniently slip from y –"

"Don't – go – there."

"I can and I will go there, Potter."

Harry looked up at him, features distorted with defiance. Snape looked back at him, dully, with dark, hooded eyes.

It was clear who had won this little battle of words.

"I hate you."

A sneer. "The feeling is mutual."

Ugh. I hate character death.
