Disclaimer: Ichigo, Hichigo, nor Zangetsu belong to me. sniff I might need a tissue...
I can't spell to save my life, so if anything is misspelled, please inform me. This is dedicated to my dear friend Nicole, who got me hooked on this series and pairing. I usually prefer to read long stories, so writing one this short really shocked me. It wouldn't be here if a certain someone whom I mentioned earlier, hadn't threatened me. Enjoy and R&R, please!
Ichigo groaned. This had to be the stupidest assignment ever. While most of Japan's youth was out enjoying their spring break, he was stuck at home trying in vain to write poetry.
Your heart lies frozen,
Incased within blackened ice.
Can I set you free?
The voice catches the young soul-reaper off guard, and he falls out of his chair. Ichigo rubs the now tender spot on his head. "What the-"
Now you're mad at me.
My dear king, will you ever see,
How you affect me.
"Hollow..." Ichigo growls. He really didn't want to deal with his dark alter-ego at the moment. 'And why in the world is he reciting haikus?'
"'Cause I love ya king."
Hichigo's voice was soft. "What?"
"Silly king, are ya really this dense? Or am I just special?"
"I'm not dense!" Ichigo yells. Hichigo chuckles.
"King, I can read yer mind. Yellin's just makin' yer family aware of yer denial."
Growling, Ichigo makes his way to his bed. 'Go away.'
"No."
'Why!'
"'Cause yer upset. What kind a servant leaves his king when ther upset? An' as I said before, I love ya king."
Ichigo buried his face in his pillow. 'What do you mean, "you love me"?'
"Figure it out king. I'll wait. Just don't make me wait to long."
Ichigo can feel his inner hollow recede from his mind. 'Why can't anyone ever give me a straight answer?' The last line of the first haiku comes unbidden to his mind. "Can I set you free?" 'Set me free from what?' Ichigo's eyes snap open and he scrambled over to his desk. He was ready to write his poem now. Within Ichigo's inner world, his hollow smiled.
'Maybe yer not as dense as I thought ya.'
Zangetsu watched this all with curiosity. He was going to enjoy this.
Well, thank you very much for reading my story. My very short story... Have a wonderful day! Don't forget to review though! I love your comments. How would I get better without them?
