Author's Notes: This fic takes place during the last episode "recently" aired. (commence eye rolling) No spoilers really. I am in such a desperate need of an Avatar fix that I am creating my first drabble/ficlet/whatever in this fandome. I hope it fulfills your needs. I am eager to see how this new style I'm trying works out. I hope it didn't jump around too much. No beta used, criticisms appreciated. Enjoy the Aangst fest!

As he meditated on releasing his chakra energy with the old monk, Aang saw all of his fears, past and present. The frightening loneliness at discovering that he had been asleep for a hundred years. The trepidation that often materialized as he fought the fire nation. He was only a child (with a care-free disposition) saddled with an outrageous destiny. Would he measure up when the time came? Maybe he was even afraid of becoming apprehensive lest it cause him to lose those he cherished.

But then he would see the composed side of Sokka and relax as his guidance reassured him like a lullaby would a soothe a newborn. He would witness Toph's fierce valor during battle or while she was teaching him her craft. They were immense comforts, but sometimes his best friends weren't enough.

At times only one face could calm his deepest worries and regrets, the one star that outshone the others. Katara was his pillar of strength, wisdom and love. He had plummeted out of the spirit world for failure to let her go. But as the two boys flew with great haste towards their latest rescue mission, he knew it was worth it. He couldn't continue without her. Together with all of them, he could do it. He would save her. He would save the world.
