So this is a little side story in my SAINW series I have going on and no it wont affect the next main story I have in mind. This is like an adventure for Niko, where he doesn't tell anyone. In any case, I'll leave you to it...enjoy!
Niko snuck among the shadows of the town library, looking for the hidden door where only the town elders were allowed to enter. It was in there where the most important and dangerous scrolls were kept, but he knew one of them would hold the secret into traveling to different dimensions. Noah, his sweet happy-go-lucky little brother was sick and Cora was quickly following her twin in terms of health.
Growling in anger at the unfairness of it all, Niko quickly climbed the walls to get a better view of the place and moved closer to the back.
"Come on, come on...where is that stupid bloody door...I just need to get one scroll..."
Suddenly, Niko heard the soft flicker of a flame coming from somewhere to his right. Heading in that direction he watched and waited, looking for anything that was out-of-place. Patience was not something he was good at, he wanted to jump in and get things done right away, something his mother said made him just like his father.
'Some father...he just up and left us one night without a reason, without saying goodbye! I'm nothing like him...I'll never be like him...'
So lost in thought, he almost missed a couple of the elders come out from between two bookcases. Not wanting to get caught, he moved himself deeper into the shadows, being careful to advert his eyes. Once they turned the corner and he heard the door open then close, he dropped down and landed silently on all fours.
Quickly flicking out one of his claws, he ran if over the edges of the worn wood, looking for anything that would allow him to get inside. It took him a while but he eventually found a little notch where he could slip his claw into and pull the wall open. Slipping inside and shutting the wall firmly behind him, Niko looked up at all the scrolls lining the walls.
'Well...this is going to be a long night...'

Hours later, after going through more than half of the scrolls, Niko finally found the one that would allow him to save his siblings...
The Scroll of Dimension Traveling.
Opening it up, Niko scanned over the instructions while making notes on the symbols he would need in order for the portal to work. After collecting all the information he needed, Niko quickly put the scroll back where he found it and made his way out of the room and back into the dark library.
He wouldn't leave his family tonight...he still had too much work to do and supplies to gather before he could do that...but soon he would be on his way to where the medicine to save his siblings...the place where his parents came from and where his father was...
Earth.
And that's the end of the first chapter. I'll work on the next one when I have the chance.
