Author's Note (2 June 2010):

Well... no news on Yullen week but I am honoring it by posting all the crap I have sitting around. I am actually kinda happy with this one. As most of the really obsessive DGM fans probably know, Kanda's Mugen means Eight Illusions but the term/sound can also mean Infinity so I started this, decided to title it such, then I editted the end to make the story match a bit and relate to the title. So, disclaimer is on my profile with more info on this story, any news on Yullen week would be appreciated, and read and review! Thank you.

It was frightening to say the least, a blade slicing, stabbing, over and over and over until it was slick with blood, pressing and sliding easily through the heart. It was at this moment that Allen realized he was in love. One would think that would be next to impossible, but it was then that Allen found himself gazing into cobalt eyes and realizing that he loved the man in front of him.

Every feeling from before was just the way their relationship worked. The fighting, the anger, the insults, the fear, the trust, the respect, was how they cared. Always portrayed through violent acts and biting words, through a hidden and grudging respect and trust, through a denial of deeper emotion.

Allen found that the harsh, cruel strength and beauty had drawn him in like a flame draws in a moth, or, in perhaps a more fitting analogy, like how Innocence would draw in akuma. Allen felt a bitter laugh rise to his throat, only to emerge as a small bubble of blood.

Kanda didn't even spare the action a glance. That had been another thing, the man's focus and calm when doing something critical, such as a mission. The icy fire in the eyes, the determination, the loyalty, the strength, the cold lack of feeling, the mystery, the sad past, they all pulled Allen further in. In a way, Allen was glad that the Kanda was the one to stop him and the Fourteenth. Kanda would guarantee death. Others would not have the pain of such a job. The Fourteenth's death was critical. Allen understood. Kanda would complete his mission at any cost and wouldn't feel a drop of pain.

As Allen sank to the ground, he let himself murmur a small "thank you" but saw an unexpected nightmare. Whilst Mugen plunged through Allen's chest one last time, Kanda turned sharply away, midnight blue-black hair whipping behind him. For a brief moment before only his back was seen, a small glittering was visible, dripping from the infinity of Kanda's eyes.
