I hate having to dress as a man. I mean the shirts are to big and the pants to baggy. My hair sits comfortably in a bun on top of my head concealed by a hat. Two daggers places on each side of my boot while my pistol lays comfortably in my hands ready to fire at any time. Such clothing and use of weapons are necessary when one's being invaded by pirates.
We're outnumbered and running low on weaponry. At least eight of my men lay dead on the deck while two more jumped ship as soon as they saw their flag. The Uchihas. The smell of blood draws my attention back to commotion occurring on my ship.
"Two more down, Captain," Ino, my temporary first mate, says form where she peeks through the trapdoor.
"I should be up there, protecting what few people I call friends." I say "not hiding like some helpless animal."
"A little patience," she reminds me. "If we're to survive this, you need to stay put."
"Survive?" I ask, offended. "Who says we are die you swine, don't you have any faith in your captain!"
"Let me rephrase. If we're to succeed, you really shouldn't expose your powers to the enemy."
"But maybe if I just killed a few of them…" I ask pleading because I'm a pirate after all and we thirst for blood drawn.
"You know we can't risk that," she says. Then she adds abruptly, "More men have boarded the ship and are headed this way."
Finally, "Give the order to surrender."
"Aye, Captain." She ascends the rest of the steps leading to the deck.
Don't get killed, I say over and over again in my head. Ino is one of the only four girls I trust on this ship besides Ten Ten, Hinata, and Temari.
"Check below decks. Make sure no one is hiding." It's one of the pirates. I can't see him form where I am, but if he's giving orders, he's either the first mate or captain.
I tense, even though I know exactly what's going to happen next.
The trapdoor lifts, and a boy with yellowish hair and whiskers on his face grabs me roughly, hoisting me onto my own deck.
It's a miracle that my hat stays on concealing my true identity.
"Line them up!"
I stand as my weapons are removed by the same pirate who threw me on the deck not to long ago. Then another pirates foot jams into my back as he forces me onto my knees, along with the rest of my crew. I look down the line and relax as I see Hinata, Ino, Temari, and Ten Ten are unharmed as well. I'm glad.
I take a moment to observe the pirate shouting orders. He's a young man, perhaps not even twenty years of age. Unusual, that. Normally young men are not usually the ones giving orders, especially among a crew that look about the same age as him. His eyes are what catches my attention, they are black but with a hint of red. He's probably a head taller than I, with color as black as night and the body of a pirate who has been through many battles such as this. His face is pleasant enough to look at, but sadly that means nothing to me when I know he belongs to the dreadful clan of Uchihas.
All in all, I'd say he's a cocky bastard.
My crew and I wait in silence for whatever is in store for us. Smoke billows around us form the cannon blasts. Debris is scattered around the ship. The smell of gunpowder and blood fills the air, making my throat ache.
Footsteps sound as a man walks across the gangplank that connects the two ships. His head held down, revealing nothing more than a black hat and the Uchiha crest sown onto his uniform.
"Captain," the same pirate shouting orders from before says, "all the men on the ship are before you."
"Good, Sasuke. But let's hope they are not all men."
A few pirates snicker while some of my crew glance nervously in my direction.
Fools! They're giving me away to easily.
"I've spotted three lasses so far, but none of them have pink hair."
The captain nods. "Listen up!" he shouts, raising his head so we can see him for the first time.
He's not much older than his cocky first mate. I slowly take in his appearance, he resembles his first mate as far as the eyes and hair go but that's about it.
"You have all heard the stories of the mighty Uchiha clan," he pauses to look to see if he has a quivering in our boots but then continues. "I am the eldest son, Itachi." And you will find that my reputation will grow to be far worse."
I can't help myself. I laugh. Does he think he can scare us by telling everyone how fearsome he is?
"Shikamaru," the captain says, nodding to the man behind me. Shikamaru rams the bottom of his sword onto the top of my head. It's not hard enough to knock me out my it does draw blood.
I imagine getting a scolded from Ino later on if I succeed in my mission. I've come to the conclusion that I'm done kneeling on the floor like some servant. Bracing my hands agaianst the wooden deck, I extend my legs backward, hooking my feet behind the heels of the pirate standing behind me. With one yank forward, Shikamaru topples backward. I stand quickly, turn around, and take his pistol before he can gain his footing.
I point the pistol at Itachi's face. "Get off the ship and take your arrogant crew with you."
Everything goes silent. Everyone can hear the click of my pistol cocking back. "I said leave."
All at once a shot fires, wrenching the pistol from my hand. It lands on the deck before skittering out of sight.
I look to the right and see the first mate- Sasuke- placing his pistol back in his holster. An arrogant smile stretches across his face. Though I would love to slash up his perfect face, I can admit it was an impressive shot.
But that doesn't stop me from getting angry. I draw my daggers and step towards the first mate. "You could have taken my hand off."
"But I didn't."
All too quickly two men grab me from behind and remove my only concealment. "Princess Sakura," Itachi says. "You're more beautiful in person." He says with a sadistic smile plastered on his face.
"I was worried that we would have to blow your ship to smithereens before we found you." He continues "You will be coming with us now."
And then everything went black.
