Dancing bears

Painted wings,

Things I almost remember

And a song someone sings

Once upon a December

Silver-grey hair flowing in the wind

Memories trying to resurface

Memories long forgotten

Someone holds me safe and warm,

Horses prance through a silver storm

Figures dancing gracefully

Across my memory

Long brown-black hair brushing milk-white cheeks

Red silk clad arms wrapped tightly around a pale neck

Apple lips meeting cold ones

Pain, sorrow, long forgotten in this persons embrace

Swaying, turning, spinning, leaping, laughter flying everywhere,

A never ending dance of happiness, a never ending song of love

Far away

Long ago

Glowing dim as an ember

Things my heart used to know

Things it yearns to remember

These small tid-bits of memory,

Floating like snow from a dark cloud

These things, these memories,

Of long forgotten happiness

And a song someone sings

Once upon a December
