Running in Circles ~ A Klance Story ~ Chapter 1

Keith looked out into the open space. There was no noise in the ship besides his own heavy breathing. His mind was racing. He had been in this

state since getting an emergency message from Allura. She wouldn't tell him what was wrong, only that it was extremely important and he was

needed immediately. The silence didn't help his wandering mind, he just had to focus on getting back to the castle. He had been with the Blade for

a while now, and after talking to his mother, she encouraged him to go back, so he was planning to anyway. However Allura's message just added

a new level of stress to the situation. At least he would get to see Lance again, he would never admit that he missed Lance more than anything.

Part of him wished he had told Lance his true feelings, but the bigger part felt that Lance would never feel the same and that he would be made fun

of forever.

A red dot appeared on the screen next to Keith, beeping at the same time. He looked at it as he was shaken out of his thoughts, then ahead of

him, the castle was coming into view. He took a deep breath as his small craft entered the castle.

The door opened to Allura waiting for him. She smiled at him weakly before gesturing to the next room as she walked through the door. Keith

followed her in to the lounge room where Pidge, Hunk, Shiro, and Coran sat on the couch. Their faces all lit up when they saw him.

"Keith!" Hunk was the first to get up, swallowing Keith into a hug, followed by Pidge and Coran, Shiro stood next to Allura.

"Hey guys." Keith laughed. Everyone let go and backed up to give him space.

The door to the bridge opened and Lotor walked in. He made eye contact with Keith who shot a look at Allura in response.

"Why is he here?" Keith whispered.

"Oh, that's right you haven't been here in a while." Allura laughed. "He's on our side now."

Keith looked back at Lotor who just smirked before walking over and standing on the other side of Allura. Something didn't feel right to Keith.

There were no smarky remarks or insults being thrown at him. Keith shook the thought out of his head.

"So what's the emergency?" Keith asked looking at Allura. Her smile immediatley faded along with a new silence that hung over the room.

Suddenly Keith realized what felt out of place. His heart dropped.

"Lance is missing." Allura looked down at her feet.
