Prompt from the FB Group Hermione's Haven for a Ginny/Time Turner story. This is my take on what Ginny would have done if she could turn back the clocks. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh the shame that sent me off from the God that I once loved
Was the same that sent me into your arms
Oh and pestilence has won when you are lost and I am gone
And no hope, no hope will overcome
But if your strife strikes at your sleep
Remember spring swaps snow for leaves
You'll be happy and wholesome again
When the city clears and sun ascends

Mumford and Sons - Winter Winds.

July 4th, 1998.

"Hermione, I'll be okay I promise. Look Ron has been really good about sharing you and Mum is just down the hall. If I get teary I'll go down there I promise. Now go on your date." Ginny was seated on her bed in the burrow, cushion curled into her stomach as she watched Hermione hesitate in getting ready to go out. Ron had finally gotten over himself and kissed the girl Ginny knew he'd loved for years and the two of them were so hopelessly happy that Ginny honestly found them a little nauseating.

"Are you sure? I mean I can tell him we can wait, I don't want to leave you right now." Hermione said as she continued hesitating in the doorway.

"Yes Hermione I am sure, the world won't fall apart because you went on a date for one evening, I promise."

"I don't know Ginny, I don't like leaving you. It's still so soon and it doesn't seem right to be happy when so many are miserable."

Ginny huffed "Hermione that's exactly why you should be, to show everyone that we survived and move on from tragedy." Ginny stood from the bed, pushing her friend out of her room with a determined look on her face as she smirked and bellowed. "Ronald Weasley get your girlfriend out of my room before I offer her services to Mum for cleaning duties!" There was a crashing sound from above and the thumping of feet as she heard Ron coming down the stairs. "See, he agrees with me. Now sod off and don't come back until your thoroughly snogged and have stories to tell me that will make me cringe." She plastered a cheery grin on her face and shut the door in Hermione's sputtering face.

She flounced back to her bed and flung herself on top of the covers and let out a huff. Honestly, she was getting tired of everyone being careful around her. She and Harry were not together and that was okay, he needed to figure out who he was now that he was not the chosen one. She will admit she had hoped that he would live and come running back into her arms begging forgiveness for leaving her behind and she could see that he wanted to do that too. But she was astute enough to know that would have ended badly, the war had broken them all, but Harry most of them all.

As for herself, Ginny needed to find a way to say goodbye to Fred. She loved all of her brothers dearly and the twins had always had a special place in her heart. Every time she saw George she felt that ache in her heart tears open another hole at the loss of Fred. George, who had been so full of life had cried and quietly gave up on everything without Fred. He'd had her shave off all of his hair just so that he would not see Fred every time he looked in the mirror.

What she was about to do was selfish, but she no longer cared, she needed to do this. So she slipped off the bed and reached into Hermione's trunk. There, in the hidden bottom she found the time turner that Hermione had drunkenly confided in her that she had stolen from Dumbledore's office at the end of her sixth year just in case. Ginny was initially hurt when Hermione didn't use it to go back and save as many as she could, but she knew that Hermione couldn't. The battle had been chaos, she might go back and save one only to kill three more with her actions. That didn't mean that Ginny did not wish that she had. So she grabbed the bag she had hidden under her bed full of everything she could possibly need and stood in the middle of her room.

She had calculated how many turns it would be, and carefully opened the back and switched the dial from hours to days and began to turn the dial fifty-three times. She stood in her bedroom and watched as time flew by so fast her eyes could barely focus on the passing of time, as figures moved in and out of her and felt as though she might be sick with it. She checked the calendar on her bedside table when she landed and grinned. June 28th, 1998, she was out with Dad all day avoiding phlegm and the wedding planning that day. She opened her door, and seeing the coast was clear she snuck down to the floo and in a quiet voice said "Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes".

The flat was how she remembered it being and she grinned when she saw Fred snoring on the couch. She felt that ripped feeling in her heart heal a little at the sight of him and she dropped her bag on the floor and crept over to the couch, avoiding the debris of sweaty socks and discarded plates on the floor as she did so. She got close enough to touch him when his hand struck out and grabbed her, pulling her down beside him and tickling her.

"Trying to sneak up on me little sister? Didn't you learn by now I am the master of Pranks? No one tricks Fred Weasley." Fred ruffled her hair, making a mess of it as she squirmed to get free.

"Oi! Let me go you Prat I wasn't pranking you. Can't a baby sister just come by to see her favourite brothers without getting attacked?"

Fred pondered for a second before relenting. "We're not your favourite," he said. "That has always been Charlie, ever since he told you he'd name a dragon after you when you cried cause we wouldn't let you play Quidditch."

Ginny huffed. "And I am still waiting on that dragon, too." She nudged Fred so he wasn't crouched over her and lifted his arm and wrapped it around herself, hugging him. "Besides, you and George always looked out for me in school, and beat on Ron when he tried to tell me I couldn't defend myself. You've always had my back and I love you for it."

Fred looked at her curiously, hugging her back when he realised that's what she needed and kissed the top of her head. "Course we did, you're our baby sister." He spotted George and shrugged at his questioning stare. "Ginny, are you okay?" They both asked.

"She held her hand out for George who came over and hugged her too and sighed. "Yes, I just needed one more. One more hug and someplace away from Phlegm and the wedding chaos. I just needed my big brothers." They looked at her curiously before George whispered. "Don't worry about Harry, he's lasted this long, he'll come back to you when this is over Ginny."

And with that she let herself cry because he had not come back to her. Harry had left her and she had lost Fred too. Losing them both had broken her, and Ginny just needed one last time being loved by one of them. Just one more time…
