His apartment was a mess.
That was an understatement.
Disaster area was more like it. He sighed as he stepped across broken pottery and dishes. He feels like the weight of the world had been placed on his shoulders. He looked at the stereo surprised to find it undamaged by the chaos. He hit play, not caring what was in it he just wanted something to distract him.
When Garth Brooks soft voice came through the speakers he knew he was in trouble.

Sinking down to the floor next to the speakers he rested his head in his hands, shivering when he saw his raw bloody knuckles. It wasn't the first time his hands had looked like this, but those times his fist had come in contact with someone else. Someone that had needed to be put down.

She had stopped to see him, to talk. He had been stubborn with her. She had gotten stubborn in return. He had raised his voice to her. She had raised her voice to him. They shouted at each other. That's when she had picked up a plate that had been laying on the coffee table. If he hadn't seen it coming it would have hit him squarely in the face. After that things were a bit foggy, but he remembered punching the wall to keep from hitting her.
