Knowing
Sinead looked at her brothers, sprawled out on the couch and she smiled. They looked so peaceful when they slept. Of course, they were the same Ned and Ted when they were conscious, but now they looked free of worry. It was rather reassuring for her. She had literally been pulling her hair out for them to be healthy.
She picked a blueprint off the dining room. What were they building this time? One glance and she shook her head. Only her brothers would build an automatic vacuum. However, the caption at the bottom was what really got her attention.
To help Sinead around the house.
She smiled again. They should take it easy on the planning. It might end up giving Ned a headache. Her soft smile turned into a grimace. Why had that horrible accident happened to them? Did they deserve it?
That was the real question.
Was it Karma? Fate, perhaps? She would never know. She didn't think they deserved the scars they had. For nights, she would stay up late, trying to relive the days before that terrible afternoon. Yet the only thing she could recall being kind of cruel, was setting the Cahill brats up. Maybe if they listened to the girl, they wouldn't be where they were today.
But then again, she would never know.
A small moan from Ted broke her from her reverie. She rushed over to his aid. He must have felt his sister's presence and stirred, but didn't open his eyes.
"I'm fine, Sinead." He responded, his voice still raw from sleep.
"I know."
They would be fine if she had anything to do with it. She would do anything in her power for them to be just fine, if that was what they wanted. They meant the world to her.
That she knew.
Okay, I hope you enjoyed that little drabble. It was a little over 300 words. I don't know what provoked me to write that, but what the heck, right?
