The Dead
Chapter 1
It was a cold, breezy day here in Chicago. I was on my way to the National Illinois Prison. No, I'm not a convict. I am a proud member of the CPD, Chicago Police Department. Well, not yet, but I'm still training. The reason that I'm going to the prison is that so I can study for my police entrance exam.
I've never been in a police car before. There were two police officers in the front. The driver was a big tubby man and in the passenger seat was a tall fellow.
The tubby one said "So what's your name, son?".
"Uh, Peter, Peter Johnson" I replied.
"My name's Alex, never liked my name." He said as we drove toward the prison.
"Be quiet!" the tall man said, "he needs to focus for his test."
The truth is that I'm not really focused. I'm to busy wondering how my son is, Cole. I've been away from him for so long.
As we drive through the prison entrance the gate wasn't being guarded and we saw a man climbing over a fence. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit. A prisoner.
The tall man ran out of the car with the radio shouting, "Code Blue! Code Blue!" No one answered.
Alex said, "Chris you catch the runner and I'll drive in and figure out what's going on." Chris ran into the woods after the prisoner.
All of a sudden we see a man walking in front of the prison. He was moving so slow. He didn't have an orange jumpsuit on. He was a cop.
Alex shouted "HEY! Hey Steve! What's going on!"
Steve started walking to the car. Then I noticed something. His suit was covered with blood! I saw tons of those bloody cops coming out of the prison. Alex got out of the car and told me to stay in. Something is not right here.
I got out of the car. I opened the back trunk and found a gun, ammo, a water bottle, handcuffs and a bag. I put all the stuff in the bag and headed towards the town.
"Uh, Pete, something's ain't right here." Alex said, "Hey Pete! Get back here!"
I decided to not look back. Then I hear something.
Alex screamed "AHHHHHHH"
I ran back to town and noticed that these things were everywhere. I hear foot steps and turn around. There was a man with a shovel and he whacked at my head. BANG!
