(Shadow's P.O.V)
I watched as the red sunset was turning into night. Soon my master would give the orders to begin the war. The red sunset matched the streaks along my black quills. Today would be the last day of my suffering.
I loaded my rifle and saluted the three-eyed alien. He bowed and announced," Now my children. Destroy those insolent fools!" A lot of alienshooted with joy, raising their weapons and ran off, invading the military base. I ran close behind and stopped short, taking a different turn. I came across a soldier and shot him in the head. He fell to the floor and blood poured out of his head. I ignored the body and continued to run.
I came across the center of the base. I found the control panel and shot it continuously with my rifle. An alarm sounded and immediately six soldiers entered the room. They grabbed me by my arms and legs and held me down. A soldier held me to gunpoint and spat," Where is your leader!" I didn't respond except if you count hitting them all with a chaos blast. They all were out cold so I shot them all. I hated shooting people because it reminded me of how my best friend Maria was shot before my eyes. I would soon be joining her in the afterlife. I heard more footsteps coming towards me. I got shot with a tranquilizer and fell to my knees. "Take him to cell 401-B," a general said. Then I blacked out.
I woke up in a cell, chained to a wall. I growled and tried to break free but it was to no avail. I used chaos blast to break my chains. Then I fell to the floor and took out my knife that I was hiding in my quills. "This is it. Tonight it will all be over," I whispered and placed the knife above where my heart would be. "This will only be physical pain. Not mental pain. Physical pain is only temporary unlike the afterlife," I told myself as I gripped the knife in my right hand. I finally did it, I thrusted the knife into my heart. I hissed as the blood flowed out of my heart valves and onto my knife. "I can finally be with you, Maria," I whispered. I heard distant footsteps but they were in my cell. "Take him to the hospital!" I heard into the distance. "Oh Shadow…why did you do this for me?" I heard Maria ask. "I did it so I wouldn't have to suffer with the thought anymore," I called, Then everything went black.
