The incessant rain and lightning was doing nothing to ease the Imperial security officer's nerves as he walked along the well-lit but eerily empty white corridor. His uniform was black cloth, complete with slightly padded shoulders and a standard hat.
The man took a breath, opening the door to the most unnerving area of the whole place. He punched in the security code and leaned over for a retinal scan.
The door slid open, and the man stepped inside. The place was tremendous, being one of the cloning towers. Supported by pillars, several snowflake-shaped disks soared overhead.
Each circle extending away from its disk contained a glass tank. These contained all the necessary chemicals to support and grow clones and they meted out the proper material on a timer.
The man started up the stairs. The emptiness of the place weighed down on him as he ascended to the first platform, which had stopped for him. His patrol would not be complete until he had checked each tank, a daunting process even without the spooky loneliness.
The first level was fine, but that was just a little less scary. Although they were enclosed in bubbles, he could see what was in them.
This layer had the clones that had worked to a small degree. They were typically odd-looking and sometimes missing the odd body part, but they weren't as bad.
The process went on for several layers, the silence not giving in and every noise the watchman made seeming hollow in the vast tower.
He got to the next 'layer', but was more nervous than ever. These things were creepy. They had no faces that he could see, just disturbing empty skin. They sensed when he was there, though. Most made odd noises. A few moved.
He gasped. One was lying on the floor, dead from lack of nutrients. Its container lay behind it, nothing more than part of the cylinder plus glass shards.

Darth Vader's TIE Advanced touched down on the metal circle provided for it. The Force-user stepped out, taking measured strides to the door. With a wave of his hand, the door slid open. He strode through the halls, the dark storms in the windows contrasting with the white interior.
He reached another section. This one had a large, heavy door. This one too opened for Vader, and he entered a dark room with a metal grate in the floor.
He looked into the small area below the grate, spotting the figure.
"Five days. Impressive," said Vader. He had returned faster than normal due to disturbing reports of escapee clones, but the working one was still there.
"The Dark Side gives me all I need, master," the figure responded. He had short hair and powerful features, with his lips permanently in a slight smirk. The person was Galen Marek, also known to a select few as Starkiller or Vader's Apprentice. So far as Vader knew, the only ones who knew this clone existed were himself and a few guards.
Vader swept the grate aside. "Then it is time for a test." Vader would have elaborated, but the rumors were setting him on edge. He would rather get this done with. He didn't bother speaking to the apprentice as PROXY droids stepped into the room, taking various forms.
The lights flickered, and some of the droids did as well. There was a boom, followed by shouts. And then the heavy-duty door to the clone's chamber was ripped off of its hinges.
