Other: Well, this is the first of the oneshots that I wrote during the two-week grounding. Took me long enough to post it, huh? XD As always, reviews and concrit are greatly appreciated.
Making Ripples
splash
One little pebble made ripples that touched the edges of the tiny pond.
She smiled slowly.
splash splash splash
Three bigger pebbles and the ripples were larger, interfering with each other and echoing off the edges.
She waited for the water to still.
splash!
Bigger rock, bigger ripples. A simple concept, really. Surprising, then, that she only realized it now. The ripples stayed around longer, bouncing off one another and the edges.
Her smile grew.
splash! splash!
Two fist-sized rocks provided plenty of ripples for her to watch, eyes trained on this one or that, flitting around to view them all. To watch them fade away, to see the ripples die.
Her smile became a frown of concentration.
SPLASH!
Naminé woke with a start, cold sweat and heavy breathing going unnoticed in the lightless room. She got up, walked over to the desk she didn't need to see, and picked up her sketchbook.
Without sight, she drew the image that hung in her mind: a boulder laying in an empty pond, waterfall-water splashing over it as the pond-water flooded out, leaving the pond itself completely empty for one moment, just one, that she caught and held with crayons and paper.
Beneath it, she wrote something, haphazard letters running into each other, some bigger than others, some scrawled illegibly.
"Those without memories should not ruin the memories of others."
