The Afterlife

Chapter 1: From life to death

Fred couldn't move. He felt as rigid and hard as cold stone. He tried opening his eyes. They would not open. All he could remember was an explosion. Then he saw a place filled with shimmering light. He opened his eyes and he saw people he thought he would never see again.

They were all dead and yet, they were here. Lupin and Tonks were here. So were Sirius, Cedric Diggory, Mad-Eye Moody, and Dumbledore. He couldn't believe his eyes. He stood up and said: "Hey, guys! I'm over here!" The others turned, and their faces were filled with surprise and some delight.
"Fred! Looks like you've moved on, I see," said Remus. Fred didn't understand. Somehow, Moody answered his question."You've moved on, Weasley," he said. "It's time for you to live after death." Fred still didn't understand where he was. There were four trains in front of him. All trains were painted with a different color. "What is all this, Professor?", he asked Dumbledore. Dumbledore smiled and said,"This is life's most exciting part: death. It is inevitable and cannot be avoided. Not even with Horcruxes. Because all Horcruxes are used by evil, and good will always rise to stop it. I think you should board a train, and that train will take you to your own life. The life you always wanted. In your opinion, a perfect life. We've just been waiting for three more arrivals. Then, I alone will meet another. Ah! Lily and James! We've been waiting for you."

Fred spun around and saw Harry's parents. Then James said to Fred,"You're clearly a Weasley," looking at him up and down."Aren't you going to board a train?", he asked. "Oh, yeah," said Fred. As he mounted a red train, he saw Snape suddenly appearing beside Lily. "Hello, Lily," he said. The train set off and Fred saw everyone waving at him before they boarded their own trains. He saw Snape, James, Lily, Remus, and Sirius all approaching the same train, setting off for their life as the new Mauraders. As Fred approached his station, he saw his family, waving at him, his twin brother carrying a bag filled with Skiving Snackboxes. As they all embraced him, Fred felt the excitement and adventure of death; the greatest of all lives.
