What's your dream? To make First?
No. To become a hero.
Great. Unattainable dreams are the best kind
The Lifestream.
Where we all have to return to at the end of life. Where I, such as so many others have ended up.
Why are you telling me all this Zack? I already know that.
Huh? Oh sorry, Aerith. I was just talking to your "children".
Children?
Well, yeah. They do call you Mother after all.
Oh, right. So, Kadaj, what is Zack telling you about?
He was telling us about how he became a SOLDIER, Mother.
You've never told me that story, Zack.
Well you've never asked.
True. So maybe you should continue the story.
As a young boy, I always wondered what I would end up doing with my life. An athlete? The first man in space? So many things to choose from, but then I remembered, I'm a kid. What do I have to worry about for now?
Any ways, one day while in my home at Gongaga, I was sitting on my couch watching TV, when I saw Him. Black uniform, silver hair and the longest blade that I had ever seen.
Sephiroth.
In the metropolis of Midgar, a robbery took place. A group of, well idiots, for lack of a better word. Sure they were armed, and while there were somehow hundreds of these thieves, they were trying to rob from Shinra!
"They tried to rob Shinra? Kadaj asked disbelieved, They really are idiots."
"Seriously. They're basically asking to get their asses kicked by SOLDIER," Loz replied.
"Thank you, Loz. Because that wasn't blatantly obvious," Yazoo sarcastically remarked.
"You know, Zack said, I would love to keep telling this story."
"And I would love to keep hearing it, Aerith replied, So, if you boys wouldn't mind."
"Sorry, Mother," they all replied.
"As I was saying," The thieves broke into Shinra headquarters, trying no doubt, to "acquire" the latest technology. They held many of the staff hostage, threatening to kill off any if they were to even move. The grunts didn't do too good a job at defending the building, as they were easily taken out. They thought they would get away with it, but boy were they wrong.
And then, he arrived. SOLDIERS top, the elite. Sephiroth arrived on the scene, easily stopping the thieves in their tracks. Paralyzed with fear, they stood so still, they put trees to shame. And like trees, they were cut down instantly, without a chance of fighting back.
After seeing the news break on this event, and seeing his confidence in front of the camera, I finally knew what I wanted to do with my life.
I was going to join SOLDIER.
