James point of view. Wrote this in less than a half hour so it's quick. Hope you like it anyways. Enjoy and please review :)
"Since when does it snow on a tropical island?" I asked gruffly as I watched the flakes gently fall down outside the window.
"Since forever, James--well at least for as long as I've been here." Juliet answered casually, adjusting her seat on the couch.
"But I don't get how the hell it's happen--"
"You've traveled through time and seen smoke monsters and polar bears on this island and yet a little bit of snow rattles your brain?"
"'Lil bit? Darlin', I ain't seen this much snow in all my life."
"Then you should stop complaining and start enjoying it." She suggested and when I made a face, she added, "What? Don't tell me you don't like the snow?"
"'Course I don't. What's to like 'bout it?"
"Snowangels, snowboarding, snowball fights--I love it all."
I chuckled, "You--snowboarding? That's somethin' I'd pay to see."
She rolled her eyes and threw a pillow at me and I questioned, "Besides, when'd ya' ever get a chance to do that stuff anyways? Ya' grew up in Miami."
"My parents would always bring me and Rachel to different ski lodges when we were young." Her face lit up as she recalled the memory, "Once Rachel and I snuck onto an advanced trail and I fell and broke my wrist--it hurt like hell but I had a damn good time." She paused to laugh, "My parents grounded her for a month--she's the older sister so of course the blame all fell on her."
I grinned as I listened to her explain her little childhood memory and when she was finished she asked with a raised eyebrow, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"No. I just--" I chuckled, "I like seein' ya' like this. All happy an' cheery 'bout yer family an' whatnot." I paused, "Tell me s'more."
She bit her lip and smiled, "Thanks...but I don't think so."
"What?" I asked, surprised, "Why not?"
"I don't feel like basking in old memories." She explained, "Let's make some new ones."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah." She jumped out of her chair and pulled on her coat, "You up for a snowball fight?"
"Not 'till we make a snowman--never made one 'fore."
"You've never made a snowman?" She asked in awe, "We better get started then."
"Alright, but it ain't gonna be no girly snowman." I stated, "Let's model it after someone. How 'bout Miles?"
"Thought you said you didn't want it to be girly."
I let out a laugh, "Yer right. Jin then."
--
"Looking good, Jim." I heard a voice say with a chuckle as I was putting the finishing touches on my snowman. The head was a little lopsided and the nose was falling out but other than that I was quite proud of the thing--was my first time after all.
"Howdy H." I greeted as I turned around to face the boss. He was all smiles with his big, bulky coat complete with earflap hat and gloves.
"You two look like little kids in the snow." He laughed as he approached the two of us, "It's endearing, to say the least."
"Hell, don't go round the whole town advertisin' the fact that I made a damn snowman, H. Don't wanna lose my reputation I got here."
Horace simply smiled, "I'm sure everyone will understand. Amy and I acted like young kids when we were first falling in love as well."
"What? Love?" Juliet spat out, "No, no. I think you have the wrong idea."
"Do I?" The boss asked childishly, "Or do I have the right idea--and you two just don't know it yet?"
I shook my head, not even bothering to dignify his comment with a response and he walked away after adding, "Don't worry. I won't tell anyone about your attempt at creating a snowman."
I watched him walk away for a moment before turning back to Juliet, "He don't know what he's talkin' 'bout."
"Yeah. No, of course." She stated uneasily, "He's completely wrong. Me and you? There's no way." She laughed, "We'd never fall in love with one another."
"Yeah, never." I agreed, but it was already too late.
'Cause I already had.
