She flickered in his peripheral vision. Blood caked in her chestnut hair and eyed red-rimmed. The blue flame hovered inches from his face.
He turns to his brother, who is dozing, and Dean shook with regret. He could have had her. A living, breathing love, not a charred one six feet underground.
No, that's wrong. Dean would have seen it, but Sam would have been alone. No Jessica, no Dean, only himself and the pain.
Dean doesn't regret his choice.
He sees the blue flame hovering again and blinks it away. She's walking past the motel window, but she's smiling.
A/N;; This is my first attempt at writing a drabble, so feedback would be lovely. I've always liked the idea of these challenges, but I had never taken part. I saw "Blue", however, and this immediately came to mind.
