Note: I wrote this a bit ago, and have just been a lazy slacker, and haven't typed it up.
I woke up and I couldn't see. I couldn't see, because I was blinded by the brightness that is you. Where have you been all my life? Not close enough for comfort, and that's the truth.
In this instant, I realize something.
I love you. Completely and wholly, with all of my being. I would take a fatal bullet for you, knowing that, even if it killed me, you would live on, and I would be happy with that.
Five years down the line…
We're still together. I still love you, and after five years, I'm going to finally get the nerve to tell you today. I received your note. I know where you're going to be, and I'll be there first, trying to outsmart the other you, who lives inside you, just as I have another me who lives inside me. Your other you has pissed me off for over five years.
We meet at your current hit. The you that isn't you sees me and winks. One of my officers sees him before I can say a word.
Everything happens in an instant.
I lunge to save you, knowing that if he, the you that isn't you is hurt, you will be too.
I feel a pinch in my belly, and hear screaming. Strong arms encircle me, and one presses on my belly hard, where the pinch was, and the other gently holds me.
"Hold on, just hold on… We'll get an ambulance."
"Daisuke," I softly ask.
"Don't talk, it'll be okay," you say.
I gesture for you to come closer so I don't have to talk loudly, because I'm getting tired.
"What," you whisper quietly, willing for help of any kind to get here faster, I can see it in your eyes, and feel it as you push harder, applying more pressure to my belly.
"I love you."
I hear a gasp, then a scream.
Then, all the world goes black.
Note: I was totally about to title this "Brightness," but I thing that this title fits a wee bit better.
It may stay a oneshot, (haha almost wrote oneshit), it may not. I haven't decided yet.
