One of the men leaned in and yanked Lua's chin up so he could see her better. "Where'd you get the broad, Russo? Uptown?" He laughed and let go. "Little scrawny, ain't she?"
Lua blushed and looked down uncomfortably. There was a tense silence before Ladd's fist slammed into the side of the man's head with a spray of blood. "Now is that" he grabbed the man's collar with his left fist and gave him an uppercut with the right "any way to talk about," Ladd added a slam to the man's stomach "the love of my life?"
He threw the man against a table with a sickening thud, the sound of bones breaking sounding so nice with the sound of the table breaking. He grabbed the man again and punched him in the jaw. Glancing back at his girlfriend, she shook his head. "Don't take them too seriously, Lua." He punched the man in the chest. "They just don't know how to treat," a last punch in the jaw, which rewarded him with several teeth coming loose in another shower of blood, "a pretty lady like you!"
He dropped the man's body on the floor with a last kick and wiped his hands on the handkerchief the bastard had in his coat pocket. "Sorry about the mess, dollface," he said, brushing his hand against Lua's cheek lightly.
Smiling slightly, she blushed again and nodded.
