Alas it has been to long since we were last able to meet. I wish it were not so, but my mere presence in Alagaësia would cause strife that I dare not place upon you.
I've heard tale that many have tried to court you, and as of yet, none have succeeded. I hold onto the hope that on day I will be able to reside with you, and have the honour to, not only call you my queen, but my wife also.
I am also aware that a certain family member of mine is away in the East, and that his lover rules in Du Weldenvarden. Their placement puts us in a predicament. My partner and I are eager to return but if we were to make the attempt, we would be intercepted and I do not wish to cause more problems.
No matter how many days pass, nor how much I ponder over it, I can still feel the guilt and see your pain. I will never be able to forget it, and it will never abide. For lengths on end I sat, watched and helped caused your sufferings. I thought of you as filth and a traitor. You didn't see what He could see, and you didn't believe it. I should have hated you and yet I couldn't. Your strength, faith and determination were something which I envied but also admired. You fought for what you believed in, and you kept strong. And you saw something in me that no-one else did… Good.
When everyone else had turned their backs on me, thought me a monster, you saw through what He had taught and told me. You should have had every reason to hate me and yet you didn't.
When I am able to see you next, I hope it shall be the last in which we are to meet in such circumstances.
I will ravish you with gifts; I will take you higher than you ever dared to dream, show you wonders you'd thought not possible and teach you that which was once forgotten. I meant what I said in Tronjheim, remember that.
