May's eyes opened slowly as the light, filtering in though the curtains, fell on her face. She was cold, feeling an emptiness on the bed beside her.
"Alphonse...?"
There was no answer. Tears became heavy in her eyes and she buried her face into Al's pillow, inhaling his scent.
He had left.
She had told him everything, given him everything she could give... And he had left her.
"He's probably on the train back to Resambool by now..." Tears began to fall onto the pillow and she wiped them away hastily. "N-No... I can't cry... He wouldn't want me to."
Breathing deeply, she drew the sheets around her naked body and sat up, something catching her eye.
Her attention was turned to the nightstand, focusing on a small black box, folded open to reveal a ring.
"Al..." She reached for the box, and the note beside it.
After reading, she clutched the note to her chest, new tears forming in her eyes.
"May?"
She whipped around, facing the door.
"May..." A shy-looking Alphonse stood in the doorway, a deep blush, matching the color of the red robe he wore, spread across his face as he looked at her. "I love you so much. You're my everything. I could never leave you, and I never want to." He approached her. "May Chang..." He took her hands, kneeling in front of her. "Will you marry me?"
She stared into his face, removing one of her hands from his to caress his cheek. She leaned in to kiss him.
Parting, she looked into his eyes, smiling.
"So what's your answer?" He scratched the back of his head.
"Yes..." She started to cry. "Yes. Yes! Yes!"
Throwing her arms around his neck, she kissed him again.
"M-May!" He pulled away from her, and taking the ring box out of her hand, slipped the small, metallic ring into her finger. "I love you so... So much... The ring-" She interrupted him by kissing him again. "Wa-Wait... The ring..." he took her hand again, knholding it so she could admire the stone-embossed steel band. "It's made of-"
"Your armor." He nodded as she finished his sentence, his hand wiping happy tears from her face. "Thank you..."
She kissed him again, this time deeper, as she pushed him back onto the bed. Continuing kissing him, she straddled his hips, pulling away briefly as he said, "M-May... Are you sure?"
She kissed his neck. "Well... You're my fiancé now..." She pecked him on the lips and winked. "And I'm sure we both want it..."
He grinned, flipping them over so he was on top, and started kissing her neck and shoulders where her own robe had fallen. She ran her hands through his hair, returning his kisses with soft moans of satisfaction.
"Hey May!" The door swung open, slamming into the wall with a loud crash.
"Eep!" May quickly pulled her robe up to her neck, blushing furiously as she gazed at none other than her brother, Ling Yao, as he stood, speechless, in the doorway.
"..." Alphonse's mouth hung open wide, slowly getting off May, with blush matching her's. "Hey Ling..."
"Well." The black-haired Emperor observed the two. "Just... Use protection."
