Furry Pillow

Ryu yawned and lifted himself from his group of very mixed comrades. Good night everyone, I'm off to bed. The blue-haired lad was a man of few words, but his friends understood what he didn't say.

"Good night Ryu," the group said in unison, continuing their card game on the inn's sole table. At this, Ryu dragged himself up the stairs.

Trudging into the right guest room, he placed his sword on top of the dresser near the first bed, and lay down. Ryu was nearly asleep when he noticed that a strange noise was coming from his pillow. Eh, must be going insane with exhaustion, Ryu thought to himself. He settled down to sleep again, but then he noticed that a bit of fur brushed against his arm. Jumping out of bed, he expected to see something looking for a fight. Instead, he found the redhead Katt, barely visible in the moonlight, lying on his pillow.

"Ryu, why did you get up?" she complained, sleepily dragging her tail back across her legs. "Your head was comfy."

What are you doing in my bed? Ryu inquired of Katt. You have your own, you know.

Katt replied with a smile on her face, "Your pillow was comfier."

Ryu motioned away in the dimly lit room. You have your own bed. Take my pillow and go; I need some sleep.

"But I want to stay here," Katt complained. Her voice now lost her usual peppiness; instead, it was filled with her weariness.

Katt, please...

Through the dimly moonlit room, Ryu saw Katt slowly sitting up. She had teary eyes and a false pout on her face. "Please?" Katt asked. "Can I stay right here with you?" It was clear Katt mastered this facade. One look at her face and Ryu couldn't help but smile.

Fine, but you need to let me sleep, okay? Don't jump around in bed.

"Thanks, Ryu," Katt said as she curled back up into a ball on Ryu's pillow. Ryu laid back on his bed, placing his head on Katt's hip. "Good night Ryu," she muttered as she drifted off to sleep.

"Good night, Katt."

A figure resembling a dog awoke and stood from his bed as the sky began to brighten. "Ryu, time to get up! We need to hunt for bre-" Bow stopped, seeing his best friend resting his head on Katt, and went into the other room to bug Rand about breakfast.
