Todd returned tired and sweaty from practicing outside. It was a hot day, but very pleasant. He tossed his basketball into the corner as he entered his room and sat down in front of his computer. It's been nearly a year since he was diagnosed to be HIV+ and everyday has been a new lesson. But despite how much he's adapted in the past year, some things would never be the same. Some people would never accept him as a human being - the hate will always be in their heart. That's why he had to persevere, even if it was just to set an example to others.

He spun around on his swivel chair and logged onto MSN. His gaze scrolled down his contact list to see who was online. He stopped when he saw that Captain Planet was logged in – it's been forever since Captain Planet was online. Todd sent him a message: "Hi," he typed.

Captain Planet responded almost immediately, "wots up".

CPfan666: positive?

Bballstar01: yeah

CPfan666: todd theres something ive always wanted to tell u… u deserve the truth

CPfan666: i know that sometimes u cant have the things yu want … u hav to be responcible … but back then a year ago i realy wanted to …

Bballstar01: That's funny … I was sort of into you myself … it was the red speedo … and i sort of have a thing for mullets

Bballstar01: but its better this way … we both have too much responsibility … and i just couldn't do it … i couldn't spread the virus … I wouldn't be able to live with myself

Todd closed the dialog window and blocked Captain Planet. Captain Planet was a good friend who did a lot for Todd, but Todd couldn't risk the two of them getting too close. He wished it could have been any other way. Some things will just never be the same.
