Janine POV:

So much has happened since after the Queen's death but slowly everythings been getting better.

Rose became Lissa's guardian. Dimitri is Christian's guardian.

Rose and Dimitri's relationship is public and most people accept them.

Lissa and Christian are married and she's pregnant.

From what i've heard she's expecting twin boys.

Adrian has fallen head over heels in love with the Alchemist, Sydney Sage and they're together. Anyway, Adrian has created a medincine that can make two dhampirs consieve.

Rose has been thrilled about it that she could give Dimitri kids now but her and Dimitri have agreeded to wait till she's at least 25 for them to become parents.

I'm happy for them.

Abe and I have gotton closer to but i'm scared to lose him again because i'm re-falling for him again.

I know it seems out of character for me to feel this way but everyone feels this way at least once in their life?

Abe was supposed to come to my apartment for dinner.

I decided to retire from my job and stay at Court.

I volunteer to help out when needed.

I had just finished making an Scottish dinner and a Turkish cake.

Believe me it took five tries to make this dinner perfect.

The Hathaway women just can't cook.

It's been a down fall since the beginning of our family history.

the door bell rung and i answered it.

I smiled at Abe. His pirate like swag never gets old.

He gave a smile, "Hello Janine."

"Hi."

We then made our way to the table he gasped then chuckled,

"Did you order this or you actually cooked?"
I punched his arm, "I cooked and you better enjoy."
"Yes ma'am. I'm surprised you didn't burn the place down."
I rolled my eyes as we sat and ate.

I swear we acting like teens on their first date.

i signed.

I just couldn't stop thinking why Abe left me pregnant in the first place.

Abe looked at me, "Janine what's wrong?"
I wanted to put on my "guardian mask" and tell him nothings wrong but I finally told him what was bothering me.

He signed, "I didn't want you or Rosemarie hurt."
"Hurt? What do you mean?"
Abe's eyes seemed lifeless, "When I joined my business we had an rivalry with another business.

And on one of my trips i could the head leader's lover - a guy- but he was going to kill my family.

So he said 'I'll let Janine and your un born baby live if you leave them.'

I then got up and hugged Abe.

He hugged me back, "I'm sorry Janine. I wish I could've did something to stay with you and Rose."

"I know... but you did what you had to do to keep your family safe.'

Abe smiled and he surprised me when he kissed me.

Talk about fireworks!

I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss.

He pulled away. His eyes were sparkling with happiness.

"Janine I love you."

I had tears of joy in my eyes then I kissed him.

"I love you too." I whispered against his lips.
