Prompt: Tattoo
Notes: It took me ages to write this, then again at least 40% of that time was spent doing a shoulder stand against my door in my underwear and trying not to rip my hair out, even that, however, is more fun than writing my Spanish oral and revising History which is what I was supposed to be doing. I was scrolling through prompt challenges on the HPFC forum and I saw someone say they were going to do this pairing and I was like ooh I've never thought of that before it sounds interesting so I thought I'd try it out. I did consider doing the plot of a drabble I thought up a few weeks ago for Draco but I decided that that plot was overall much better for Draco. Anyway, enough of my rambling, it would be cool if you could review it please?
Her hand shook as she pushed her tangled ginger hair off her face, why, she didn't know; she was not cold, nor was she scared.
His brow furrowed sadly as he watched her, attempting to read how she felt. She was definitely no open book.
A loud sigh escaped her lips. "So it's over." She stated, her gaze moving from his forearm to his face. "If you wanted to break up with me you could have just said," she joked feebly.
"No, Lily, don't be like that-"
"Oh, shut up Regulus!" She snapped, "you know as well as I do what this means."
"You think I wanted this?!" He asked, raising his voice slightly.
"I don't think this is about whether you wanted it or not!" She retorted.
"Really? Then what is it about?" he roared, grabbing her wrist and attempting to pull her towards him.
"You're one of them now Regulus, we've been treading a thin line but you've crossed it, we can't pretend anymore."
"That's what you think," he asked, his voice quieter now but more bitter, "that I'm one of them?"
"Yes, no... I don't know." She replied wearily, as she pushed her hair off her face again, her hand more steady now. "But we can't be together anymore, they won't allow it."
"They won't know," he argued, while he moved slightly towards her.
She didn't move back however she didn't respond to his closeness. "They will though," she said with a tone of acceptance, "and I won't risk that; I won't let you risk that."
He looked at her, dejection apparent in his eyes which didn't follow her as she walked past him. He rolled his sleeve down slowly before heading back to the castle, a good 10 minutes after Lily.
