Judy and Nick walked down the hallway to her apartment to fix Judy's rickety bed.
"Nick, I told you I could do it." Judy said as she let herself and her friend inside.
"Yeah right. Have you ever fixed a broken bed?"
"Well, no."
"Exactly."
"But I'm sure there's nothing to it!" She smiled. Nick chuckled and then pushed the box of tools over to her. Judy stared at the box and tried to figure out what she needed for her bed.
"Not so easy now is It?" He laughed.
"Fine. Fix it. But I can watch to see what you do." She smiled. Nick chuckled and then slid under the bed with the wrench and began fixing the leg of the bed.
"When I am done I can show you how to do this," He grunted as he tried to reach his goal.
"I'm sure I can fix the other one, it doesn't look so bad!" She smiled.
"Ok give the other one a try," Nick smirked. Judy nodded, but the minute she tried to get grab the leg of the bed, she got a handful of splinters!
"OW!" She gasped.
"Judy? What happened?" Nick asked looking back at her.
"Nothing, just a few splinters." She huffed.
"Bed too powerful for ya huh?" He chuckled. But when he looked back, he saw Judy was still frustrated. "Aw, c'mon Carrots. I was just kidding."
"I'm fine."
"Loosen up."
"Nick! I said I'm fine!"
"There ya go pountin' again."
"Nick!"
"Carrots, for the last time, loosen up." Nick chuckled. Judy was curious why he was sounding so amused. She couldn't see him because his upper half was under the bed. But she could see his lower half and now his large bushy tail began to float near her.
"Nick! Get that thing away from me!" Judy huffed, trying to move away from him.
"Oh, I think someone's attitude needs an adjustment." Came the amused response. His tail then began to tickle all over her stomach.
"HEY! NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!" She said, trying to scoot back against the wall.
"No getting away from me Carrots." He chuckled, still fixing the bed.
"NIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHICK! STOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOP!" Judy said as she managed to slide herself into a corner. But she was trapped between the corner and Nick's tail.
"Where'd ya go Carrots? I'm not done cheering you up," Nick cooed playfully. His tail began to gently shift around, feeling around for her. It then felt her foot.
"Bingo!" He said in triumph. His tail then began tickling her foot and wiggling all over her.
"Nick! I learned my lesson! NO tickling!" She giggled.
"You sure you learned your lesson?"
"How can you be tickling me with your head still under my bed!"
"What can I say, I multitask," He chuckled as he got out from under her bed. He turned and saw her huddled up in the corner and smiled deviously.
"C'mere Carrots," He smiled, bearing his teeth. He then let his tail wiggle all over her again making her laugh and giggle.
"STOHOHOHOHOHHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOP!" She laughed as she grabbed his tail. He chuckled and lifted his tail up, with his partner still attached to it. He then placed her gently on the bed and she released his tail.
"Now let me see that paw," He said.
"It's only a few splinters."
"I know, but I want to get them out, now c'mere." Nick said as he playfully pounced on her and began examining her hand. Once the splinters were out, Nick saw that Judy was slowly falling asleep. He gently placed a blanket over her and let himself out. He was always ready to help his best friend, no matter the issue.
