Daniel Jackson yawned and rubbed his eyes as he thanked the airman who had driven him to his apartment building. After an exhausting mission, all he wanted to do was collapse and sleep. Normally, he didn't like to indulge in the privileges that came with his job, but he hadn't thought he could stay awake long enough to drive, and he had been right. The airman had had to wake him up once they reached Daniel's building.
Dr. Jackson picked up his briefcase from the floor of the car and thanked the airman once more.
"No problem, doc. See you in the morning!" The airman replied cheerfully. "You have a good night, you hear?"
"All right. Thanks." Daniel yawned as the car pulled away, and then checked his watch. Hrm. If he had a normal job, he'd probably be getting off work at about this time too.
Daniel walked into his building, and spotted a familiar foursome of blondes heading towards the elevator. He picked up the pace to catch up with them. They lived a floor above him, and they lived together; he assumed they had come over to the United States together, gone to university together, and then decided to move in together. Oh, he didn't mention they were some of the most gorgeous blondes he'd ever met? And they were German too.
Sam was gorgeous too, but they were friends. That would be weird.
"Oh, hello." One of the blondes greeted him with a thick German accent as she held the elevator open for him.
Daniel smiled politely. "Thank you." He stepped to the left after he had pressed the number for his floor.
The ride up was rather… interesting, shall we say. The four girls were talking animatedly in German, assuming (wrongly) that he didn't know a word of German.
In German, one of the girls gushed, "Oh, I cannot believe a man can look so good in simple jeans and a buttondown shirt. God, and those arms."
"I know. Granted, I'd like to know what he looks like without the clothes," Daniel casually turned his face away so they wouldn't see his ears turning red. "But he's very, very handsome. Sexy, even."
"I agree with you both! This outfit is brilliant. Not to mention way better than that geeky looking brown suit he wore last week. Wonder where's he's been. But maaaan, he is so cute."
At this point, Daniel couldn't stop smiling, so he cut in, in perfect German. "I'm glad you like my outfit. And about that suit, don't worry, it is leaving my closet the moment I get back up to my place." As the elevator stopped and the door opened for him to leave, he couldn't help a playful smirk and a wink at the girl who had last spoken. "I think you're cute, too."
Daniel paused after the elevator closed and continued. Oh God, he flushed, he was never going to be able to look them in the eye again. He groaned and ran a hand through his hair. He should just pretend like he didn't know twenty-nine languages. God. He was such a geek.
