- Prologue -
Hawks screeched in the sky. Panthers growled on the green jungle floor. The beating of powerful wings and the pounding of paws on the ground were heard throughout the Akasi Jungle. Hawks and Panthers were near the top of the food chain, climbing up and falling down with every kill. The two species never liked each other. Never got along, barely spoke, and only touched when battling.
The Akasi Jungle is home to many animals, other than Panthers and Hawks. There are Elephants, Tigers, Crocodiles, Boars, Bears, Wolves, Fish, and more. There are predators and prey, dry lands and grassy, moist lands. The Akasi Jungle wouldn't be here if it weren't for the animals. The animals wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Akasi Jungle. Animals fertilize the land, and the land feeds the animals.
Now, some backround on the two animals I mentioned in the beginning of this story. Panthers and Hawks.
Panthers obviously have weaknesses, but, boy, do they have strengths. Claws, teeth, body weight, swiftness, speed - Not to mention their paws. They use their surroundings to their advantage, like climbing trees and hiding in tall grass. And Panthers can jump exceptionally high. But, they're grounded. They can't fly, which is harder to kill Hawks. Their sleek, black coat can be a giveaway in some areas of the jungle. Panthers are loners, which means it's harder to get food sometimes.
Hawks also have many, many weaknesses. And even though they have few strengths, they're good ones. Talons, knife-sharp beaks, ability to fly, and form flocks. The weaknesses are, they have very small bodies so if they get too close to a predator, they could get killed in seconds. Hawks don't have the best eyesight, but still can see at least 10 feet in front of them. This makes it easy for a potential threat to sneak up on the bird.
Now that you have some backround about the two main animals of this story, go ahead and enter the amazing world of the Akasi Jungle. Where the breeze is warm, the water is cool, the fruits grow ripe in the trees, and where the beautiful animals roam free.
