Jean is sitting in the studio come master bedroom, by the fire on a cold Ballarat afternoon knitting, she and Lucien had been married for around 6 months, she has settled in to marriage well for the second time. She does her chores, both household and still being Lucien's receptionist. The weekday afternoons when they don't have patients, she has time to indulge in her hobbies. This day Lucien had been called out to work a new case with the police. She lets her mind wonder to her the beginning of her relationship with Lucien. The night of the play at the Colonist's club. The first night they had been out for night as a couple to them but still in secret to the public. During the night they snuck out to the balcony to have some time alone ended up getting lost in each other.
Later after Munro released the audience and actors in the early morning. They headed back to home with Mattie and Christopher Jr. Mattie had made her a birthday cake. As Lucien had arrived in kitchen her start jovially singing for her a Jolly good fellow, walking up and giving her a quick hug and kiss on the cheek. With Christopher Jr looking on. While this memory is running through her mind she could since that Lucien was home when he sat down beside her and whispers. "Penny for them." Seeing the smile on her face. He gives her a kiss on the cheek this snaps her out of her thoughts and turn to face him. "Hmm" she slips her shoes off and sits her knitting down, she leans back into him as she does his arms automatically go around her "I was remembering the night of the play at the colonist club and the next morning when returned here and Mattie presented me, with my birthday cake with the heart shaped decoration on it and whispered me to make a wish." "yess, I remember the look you gave me and only me once you had blown out the candles?" "My wish was a hope that we would realise what we ment to each other." She looks back at him. "So, Mrs Blake, do you think your wish has come true?" She turns around and slips her shoes back on and turn to face Lucien with a smile that answers his question and kisses him with passion which tells him that he may be not be returning to the station as soon as he was expected.
