Zelgadis stood around awkwardly, struggling to pull his hood as low over his face as possible. Everything around him was stark white, broken only by snippets of garish colors, and he felt off wearing all beige in such a place. It didn't help his dilemma that he was a chimera.
"There you are! Come with me, I've found it!" Lina announced as she weaved throughout the shelves in a blur of color, skidding to a stop before Zelgadis. With a sigh, the chimera allowed himself to be dragged by Lina through the pharmacy, knowing that neither she nor his psychiatrist would take no for an answer.
Why was Zelgadis in a pharmacy, and why did he have a psychiatrist? Well, thanks to Little Miss Justice's insistence (non-stop pestering) to do something about his negative outlook on life, Zelgadis had gone to a psychiatrist just to appease her. Then he had been diagnosed with depression. Oh joy.
So now as a result Zelgadis stood amongst the many shelves holding bottles of various medications, one for depression in his own grasp. Lina (who had forced Zelgadis to take her along, not trusting him to follow through without prompting) was craning her neck, struggling to read the label on the depression medication.
"Wait a moment . . . may lead to an increase in suicidal thoughts?" Zelgadis stared owlishly at the bottle, reading the last warning line out loud.
Meanwhile, it looked like Lina was torn between laughing and raging against the idiots who would create depression medicine that led to suicide.
"What kind of depression medicine makes the person taking it want to kill themselves?" She exclaimed.
Just then, Xellos popped into existence next to the two, a sunny look that was positively radiant on his face.
"Xellos! What are you doing here?" Zelgadis snarled, his confusion about the medicine forgotten as he tossed the bottle to Lina, grabbing the hilt of his sword.
"I've been stalking you for the past few weeks! Ever since your last cure lead didn't work out, you've been radiating enough negative emotions to host a Mazoku banquet!" Xellos announced.
"Hey Xellos, can you tell us why depression medicine would make a person want to commit suicide?" Lina interjected and stepped in between the Mazoku and chimera, trying to prevent a one-sided fight. Zelgadis wouldn't be happy with the outcome and undoubtedly the "Enemy of All That Lives" would be blamed for the resulting destruction.
Xellos swooped down from where he floated, snatching the bottle from Lina's hands. He perused the label, and then grinned even wider.
"Well?" Zelgadis asked. Even he was too curious to either ignore or attack Xellos.
"Well obviously, it's a permanent way to rid the sufferer of depression!" Xellos announced sunnily.
Lina and Zelgadis exchanged glances, and bolted out of the pharmacy. Amelia didn't need to know that Zelgadis wasn't taking medicine.
