Mimiko: This is a one-shot, incredibly short story about the final thoughts of Maes Hughes the night of his death. I do not own Full Metal Alchemist and can't imagine I ever will.

"It's all coming together now. It's just a big scheme put together by the higher ranked officials and some low life scum. Dammit! I can't believe I didn't see this earlier! I have to fire that girl or she'll be mixed up in all this!"

"It's so obvious, I have to find that secretary, get some answers out of her. Who the hell is that woman? She has a tattoo of a transmutation circle on her chest… is she working with the military too? And who does this imposter think they are? If they're going to disguise themselves as a soldier they can at least do it right."

"I don't like killing people, even if they are enemies to the military, let alone women. But I'm sorry, I have a family to go home to. I can't afford to die. Elysia wouldn't like that very much."

"Gracia, why did you shoot me?"

Mimiko: I know that was really short, but I just felt like writing it. No flames, review!
