The sun was setting over the vast ocean in beech city, all shops were packing up for the night and restaurants were closing. Many people were heading home to their respective houses or vans and laying down to sleep.
But on the large cliff that hung over the ocean two people stared out over the endless waves. The larger of the two sighed and glanced at the other. The smaller one was looking up curious to why the bigger girl had called her here.
The larger girl, Garnet, sighed oh she had called Pearl here for a reason but... she was... scared. What if Pearl didn't like her that way, what if she was rejected harshly, what if Pearl hated her because of her feelings.
Garnet turned to her love and sighed once again, she stared at Pearl for a moment mustering her courage until she kneeled down so her eyes were level with the other gem's.
"Pearl" Garnet muttered softly
"Yes Garnet? Is something wrong?" Pearl asked worriedly
"No, No, nothing is wrong I just need to tell you something." Garnet quickly reassured
Pearl gazed at Garnet curiously and nodded her head once. "Pearl I am about to tell you something I have never told anyone, and I am trusting you, if you don't agree, please say so."
Pearl cocked her head and nodded, now confused.
"Pearl, I have never told anyone this but I think you should know. Pearl I prefer girls.. I love.. girls... I love you." Garnet whispered
Pearl opened and closed her mouth several times not able to say words, Garnet had just confessed that she loved her. Pearl couldn't say anything but blushed and turned her head slightly.
Garnet shed a tear, she had taken Pearl's silence as rejection, and was quite frankly heartbroken. Another tear trailed down her dark face then another. She was about to stand up when a delicate hand brushed away a tear streaming down her cheek.
Two hands cupped her chin and lifted her face, which had been bent down in sorrow. Soft, gentle lips pressed down on hers. Garnet melting into the kiss and lightly kissed back opening her mouth to allow Pearl entrance.
When they were finally forced to pull apart both looked into the others eyes with love. "I love you, Pearl." Garnet whispered gently.
"And I love you." Pearl whispered back
Grasping the others hands they headed back to the temple.
