Silence is such a beautiful thing, but it can also be ugly. In a world filled of many creatures it became known that only the shapeshifters can kill vampires and only the vampires can kill the shapeshifters. There was a time that the two species lived in peace ruling over human kind and many other different species, but that was millions of years ago before the incident that no one can seem to remember where the two species split and war raged on. Our story begins with a young wolf shapeshifter by the name of Risika.

Risika was one of the few of her kind. She stood at five foot five with black hair and blue eyes. Her wolf form was a gorgeous white artic wolf with even colder blue eyes then her human form. She appeared to be around the age 19 even though her true are was in the hundreds.

She stood on the top of a hill looking down at what appeared to be an abandoned mansion. Her eyes scanned around looking for any signs of life. The wind brought no scent of a living creature. Her only mistake was that she could not see or smell the vampire that was down wind from her nose.

The figure was kneeling down in the shadows staring at the wolf that cautiously walked down the hill. He docked his bow as Risika began to shift into her human form at the steps to the mansion. The vampire began his aim at the unsuspecting shapeshifter. A cry let out as a knife set on his throat. Before the unknown intruder could say a word the vampire let his arrow go.

Risika felt pain in her leg as she fell to the ground. "Sister!" Risika's eyes moved towards the voice. She could see her brother Derrick dragging a vampire behind him. "I'm fine." Risika said as she closed her eyes before pulling the arrow out. "Stupid vampire this won't kill me." She muttered under her breath.

The vampire smiled slightly, "I only planned to slow you down a little before I attacked you." Derrick squeezed the vampire's shoulder until his shoulder cracked. The vampire cried out in pain. "How about a little pain before you meet your death." Derrick hissed in the vampire's ear. Risika watched her leg heal before she looked at the vampire.

"What is your name?" The vampire leaned towards her, "Fuck you." He said before he spat on her. Risika looked at him and shook her head, "Let's start over. What is your name and maybe just maybe I'll let you go."

Derrick looked at his sister in shock; her cold eyes silenced any of her brother's arguments. The vampire looked at her, "How do I know you will let me go?" Risika put her hand in front of her, "I swear on my blood." She took her knife out and slit her hand putting it in front of the vampire's mouth. The vampire licked the blood off of her hand before the wound closed "A blood offering how interesting." The vampire smiled as Derrick looked at his sister in horror.

"My name is Marcus." The vampire said with a smile. Risika nodded to her brother, "Let him go." Derrick looked very upset but he let the vampire go. Marcus looked at the two shapeshifters before he ran off. "Why did you do that!" Derrick yelled angrily. Risika looked over at her brother, "Because he doesn't know who I am and besides he will be useful one day. With him now bonded to me I can find him where ever he is." She smiled. Derrick looked at his sister like she was crazy but he didn't raise an argument after all she was alpha above their shapeshifter wolf pack.
