A Carnival Surprise

A/N: Hello again, peeps. Another prompt from colferxcriss on Twitter. Enjoy. :):)

The joyous sound of laughter came from Kurt and Blaine, as they made their way out of the hall of mirrors. As they passed young kids trying to win a huge stuffed giraffe to elderly accompaning their grand kids on the ferris wheel or roller coasters, Blaine took Kurt's hand.

Kurt's other hand fiddled with the black box inside his jacket pocket, flipping it nervously. His glasz eyes narrowed to the ground, and he kicked a pebble in his way.

Their laughter died down, and suddenly it was quiet between them both.

Blaine spoke up first. "Is everything alright, Kurt?"

"W-What? Oh, y-yeah. 'M fine..." Kurt mumbled, trying to convince himself more than his boyfriend.

Blaine stopped and wrapped an arm around Kurt's slender waist, pulling him closer. "Are you sure?"

Kurt avoided Blaine's eyes. Blaine gently placed a finger under the taller boy's chin, hazel meeting blues. Kurt gulped. Blaine always knew when something was wrong. They've been together for 2 years already, so it wasn't a surprise to Kurt. Blaine read him like an open book most of the time.

"Talk to me. Please?" Blaine pleaded softly.

Kurt nodded, then took a deep breath. "Ok. Look, so uhm,..."

Blaine nodded, encouraging Kurt to speak his mind.

"I wanted to ask you something. Look, you make me so happy...and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Kurt rambled on, eyes staring behind Blaine at the Wishing Lady stand. The golden statue only stared back at a trembling and nervous Kurt Hummel.

"Kurt honey, what are you trying to say?" Blaine breathed out, having a general idea, and his stomach did flip flops.

Kurt pulled out that little black box, and said sweetly, "Well, uhm..." He opened it, showing a beautiul and pricey silver wedding band.

"Oh! Oh my god!" Blaine gasped, his hands finding their way to cover his mouth in surprise.

"Blaine Devon Anderson, the love of my life, will you marry me?" Kurt asked with a huge smile, anticipating the response.

Blaine blurted out, "Woah! Oh my god...Yes! Yes of course!"

Kurt breathed out a sigh of relief, and took out the ring, and gently put it on Blaine's olive-skinned finger. Blaine pulled his fiance closer, and they shared a passionate kiss. Kurt melted into that familiar and warm embrace.

They parted, chests heaving, and Kurt smiled. "O-Ok, then...uhm, d-do you want t-to go try and win a giraffe?"

Blaine pouted. "I-I wanted a monkey, Kurt."

Kurt rolled his eyes. "Ok, money it is. For my own adorable monkey..."

Blaine giggled, and said, "Race you there!"

Kurt laughed as he stared at his fiance, thinking, I'm MARRYING him...

Such a wonderful life. With him in it.
