[A/N: Dedicated to my best friend Andrea, because...she threatened me too XD! Happy Thanksgiving!
"Excuse me, do you have the time?" A girl asked. L looked up. She looked to be about L's age. She had super curly brown hair, with beautiful blue eyes.
"Its 1:15."
"Thanks." She said smiling warmly. She sat down on the bench next to him and promptly pulled out a variety of textbooks and notebooks from a huge backpack she was carrying with her.
"Wow, you must have some really big test coming up." L commented. The girl shook her head.
"No. I'm convinced someone like Kira has existed before so if that's the case then their might be a boat load of unexplained heart attacks somewhere." She explained.
"Are you working with the police?" The girl shook her head again.
"Nope. I'm working solo. I'm Elizabeth by the way."
"American?"
"English," She said smiling.
"Have you found anything interesting?" L asked.
"Its all interesting to me. Kira related only a little."
"What makes you think you'll find anything at all?" L questioned.
"I find it just so very unlikely that Kira invented technology advanced enough to do what Kira has been able to do. It would take a team of very advanced minds, years, to make anything even comparable to whatever Kira is doing and I think it would be extremely easy to track the research done. So whatever he's using might not be new and maybe unearthly, if that makes any sense. If that's the case its possible something similar to what Kira is using to kill has existed before." Elizabeth rambled. " I realize that's a lot of assuming but I have to start somewhere."
"That makes sense to me. If it wasn't just criminals dying then its likely it was over looked and assumed to be a strange side effect from of some bad food product."
"Exactly," Elizabeth said, "Maybe we can figure out how Kira is killing people, if I can find a hint toward what a previous person was using." Elizabeth looked happy someone didn't think she was crazy.
"Yeah maybe if that was known it'd be easier to stop Kira," L said.
"That's my hope," Elizabeth said thoughtfully.
Suddenly Elizabeth started gathering up the books that surrounded her, throwing tem into her bag.
"All done researching?" L asked.
"I've had an epiphany" Elizabeth said simply. Before L could question her, he heard approaching footsteps and glance up to find they belonged to Raito.
"I think you should know," Elizabeth said leaning in toward L and lowering her voice, "I can say with quite certainty that boy is Kira." Elizabeth stood up straight and before L could say another word she gave and smile and a wave, then started walking past Raito.
L noticed as she pasted Raito she swiftly pulled an apple from her pocket and threw it in the air, inches behind Raito. L watched as it stopped in mid air, and started, it would seem, to be eaten by an invisible force.
It then clicked in L's brain. God's of death do truly just eat apples.
