Marriage? - Nellis

Nick was pacing. He always did when he was impatient or nervous. Today, Nick was nervous. His hand kept going into his pocket, where a tiny black box had been placed a few hours before. Yes, Nick was going to propose to Ellis tonight. Right now, he was merely waiting for Ellis to finish changing, so they could go out to eat. It was a routine of theirs. They would go out to eat once a month for their anniversary. As Ellis wanted to go for burgers and Nick wanted something slightly classier, they agreed that they would take turns deciding where to go. And now, on their two year anniversary, it was Nick's turn to decide. The only thing Ellis knew was that he was to wear a suit. The hick was not a happy camper, to say the least. He came out, looking very frustrated. "Nick! I can't tie this dang thing!" Nick chuckled and walked up to the kid. "Here, let me do that." He skillfully tied Ellis' bowtie. "You ready to go, Ace?" Ellis nodded and grinned. He kissed Nick's cheek and then rushed out the door, quite excited about their date, even though he had to dress up.

When they arrived at the fancy, five star restaurant, Nick paid the waiter a bit extra, and the two men where then led upstairs. Ellis gasped when they got to their destination: The rooftop. Nick chuckled. "Like the view, kid?" Ellis grinned and nodded happily. "Yeah! It's amazing! Thank ya so much, Nick! Yer amazing." Nick smirked and seated himself, as did Ellis. Nick was so terrified of the outcome of the night. He really hoped Ellis would agree to marry him, so he wouldn't make a complete fool out of himself.

As the night progressed, Ellis wondered why Nick was being so quiet. Sure, Nick was always quiet compared to Ellis, but this was really bad. Suddenly, Nick stood up, surprising Ellis quite a bit. "Uh, Nick? What're ya doin'? You feelin' alright?" Nick stared at Ellis, scaring the kid a little. Then the man dropped down on one knee and fumbled with something in his pocket. "I uh… Just a sec. GOD DAMNED IT!" He nearly growled as he tried to get the box out of his pocket. Ellis merely sat there, watching him with a confused expression. "Aha! Here we go", Nick said as he pulled out the box. That was when Ellis realized what was going on. He stayed quiet, however. "Ellis… I love you so incredibly much. You're my ray of sunshine, and you're what keeps me going every day. Thank you for being there with me for so long, putting up with all my shit." Ellis grinned. "I.. Yeah, you probably know where this is going, and seeing as I'm shitty at this touchy-feely stuff, I'd just like to ask you: Ellis, will you marry me?" Ellis' grin grew even wider as he nodded excitedly. He jumped out of his chair and into Nick's arms, showering him with kisses. "Yes, yes, yes! I love ya, Nick, 'n I wanna spend forever with ya!" Nick smiled happily and placed the ring on Ellis' finger. "So, how about we start the celebration by paying the bill and heading home to the bedroom?" Ellis grinned widely. "Hell yeah! Sounds like a plan tuh me!"

Yes, they sure celebrated that night.
